Midnight Manor Private Residence, Monday Evening

A Thanksgiving feast, even when just for two(ish) people, was still a feast, and thus had required both yesterday and today to be properly prepared. Most of the dishes were the same as last year: the main along with the side dishes of vegetables, potatoes, and stuffing. And yes, of course there were dinner rolls.

New this year was a soup and simple garden salad. Dessert was also the same as last year, with apple cake and butter tarts (along with a batch of the non-vegan variety that had been set aside for Marc).

"It looks fantastic," Watts said, surveying everything laid out on the dining room table. "Will you light the candles, then, while I go fetch us a bottle of wine?"

"Nor I," Steven said. He turned around enough to give Llewellyn a quick kiss.

"You see? Perfect."

Could they have kissed at the dining room table too? Sure, but this was different.

There was less leaning required! Completely different.

"Much like yourself," Steven replied.

"Flirt," Watts declared.

"Yours," Steven replied.

[pocketpretzels]

"Mine," Watts agreed, holding out a forkful of cake for Steven. Yes, they each had their own plates, Wasn't going to stop him.

Steven smiled as he took the offered bite. Then he made an appreciative noise at the taste. No words, he was too busy chewing.

Watts beamed at him, pleased by that reaction. "You like it, then?"

"It's wonderful," Steven said once he'd swallowed. "The flavors came together very well."

"I thought so as well," Watts agreed, after taking a bite of his own. "Sweet, but not too sweet."

"Now a butter tart, before Marc eats them all," Steven said as he took a bite. He made an appreciative noise again, giving Llewellyn a thumbs up.

Watts, likewise, took a bite of his own. "I could easily eat a dozen of these in one sitting," he admitted. He would not, but he could.

"If we hadn't just had dinner I might do the same," Steven admitted. "Marc certainly could. At least he has his own. Better chance he leaves ours alone then."

Marc was making no promises.

"I could always make more, if it came to that," Watts said. "Though I wouldn't want anyone to get bored of them."

"At the moment you're staying sat here next to me," Steven told him. He got a forkful of cake from his own plate and held it up for Llewellyn. "I'll tell you if I get bored of it."

"I should hope you don't get bored of sitting next to me," Watts said before he took the offered bite with a smile.

[hasaknightjob]

"Not very likely," Steven told him with a smile. "You're far too nice to be close to. Comfortable and safe. Like home."

"Good," Watts said. "Because I'd like to sit next to you for years to come."

[hasaknightjob]

"I'd like that as well," Steven said. "Sit next to you. Stand beside you. Be with you."

[pocketpretzels]

"I'm pleased to hear we are aligned in our goals."

[hasaknightjob]

Steven shifted around, tucking his legs up underneath him so that he could sit while facing Llewellyn. He took in the results of his efforts and smiled. "There. Now we're aligned so I can better see you. I like this goal very much."

"Oh, that is nice," Watts agreed. "Hello, you." And he offered Steven another bite of cake.

Steven leaned in to take it, but not before sneaking a kiss on Llewellyn's cheek first.

"Flirt," Watts declared, the kiss on his cheek eliciting a pleased smile.

[hasaknightjob]

"So are you," Steven said, though his mouth was full of cake so it was perhaps hard to understand.

Steven offered Llewellyn a forkful from his plate.
