pocketpretzels: (little smile)
A Thanksgiving feast, even when just for two(ish) people, was still a feast, and thus had required both yesterday and today to be properly prepared. Most of the dishes were the same as last year: the main along with the side dishes of vegetables, potatoes, and stuffing. And yes, of course there were dinner rolls.

New this year was a soup and simple garden salad. Dessert was also the same as last year, with apple cake and butter tarts (along with a batch of the non-vegan variety that had been set aside for Marc).

"It looks fantastic," Watts said, surveying everything laid out on the dining room table. "Will you light the candles, then, while I go fetch us a bottle of wine?"

[ooc: for the beau!]

Watts was very glad he had decided to err on the side of caution given how large an undertaking this was, meal-wise, and had made a few things yesterday. That meant today he could focus on the main dish as well as the veggies, potatoes and stuffing. For dessert he'd ended up making those butter tarts- some traditional and some vegan in addition to the apple cake. And of course, this is Llewellyn Watts we're talking about, he'd found a nice wine to go along with everything.

Everything (sans desserts) was laid out on the dining room table, their best dinnerware (they really needed to get proper fancy stuff) ready to be piled high with food, and candlelight filled the room with a soft glow while music played softly via a portable speaker.

Now all Watts needed was the beau, who had been on cat-occupying duty while all this was being set up. "Dinner's ready, darling," Watts announced, popping his head into the living room.
