Midnight Manor Private Residence, Monday Evening

A Thanksgiving feast, even when just for two(ish) people, was still a feast, and thus had required both yesterday and today to be properly prepared. Most of the dishes were the same as last year: the main along with the side dishes of vegetables, potatoes, and stuffing. And yes, of course there were dinner rolls.

New this year was a soup and simple garden salad. Dessert was also the same as last year, with apple cake and butter tarts (along with a batch of the non-vegan variety that had been set aside for Marc).

"It looks fantastic," Watts said, surveying everything laid out on the dining room table. "Will you light the candles, then, while I go fetch us a bottle of wine?"

"Your anchor in more ways than one, my darling Gentleman Knight."

The heart eyes were back. "You are, aren't you? My dearest."

Steven leaned in to kiss him again, more than a peck this time.

"Always," Watts murmured in to that kiss.

Steven started tugging Llewellyn towards their bedroom. Then he nearly fell when he forgot they weren't fully off the stairs.

"Oh bugger - "

And there was Watts, holding on to him tightly so as to keep him as upright and steady as possible. "Careful, now."

Steven clung to Llewellyn possibly tighter than was strictly necessary. "I keep getting distracted. Forget to watch where I'm going."

"Are you saying, then, that you find me distracting?" Watts asked, as they stepped off the staircase and in to the hallway.

[hasaknightjob]

"Very distracting," Steven replied. Though he was paying more attention to where he stepped now.

"I am simultaneously flattered and concerned about you injuring yourself as a result of distraction," Watts admitted.

And at least now they were back on level ground?

[hasaknightjob]

"But I didn't," Steven said, drawing himself up proudly. "Because you protected me."

His pride was in Llewellyn, yes.

[pocketpretzels]

"No falling," Watts said. "So long as I can help it, at least."

[hasaknightjob]

"You've been doing brilliantly so far," Steven said. Though now he was getting distracted by trying to loosen Llewellyn's tie. "Haven't fallen yet, have I?"

"Not once," Watts said, leaning up against the wall near their bedroom as Steven fiddled with his tie.

[hasaknightjob]

"Aha!" Steven said, triumphantly, as he successfully undid the tie. "Where shall I put it?"

Watts was tempted to discard it right where they were, but that meant inviting the possibility of Raphael deciding it was a toy and absconding with it.

"Here," Watts held out a hand. "I'll put it away." Once they made it actually inside their room, anyway.

"What? Oh, right," Steven looked sheepish as he handed the tie over. "Not in our room yet."

(There was also the possibility of judgey looks from Marc if he happened to take over the body tomorrow morning to go work out and saw a necktie on the floor in the hallway.)

"Mere steps away," Watts said, tugging him in that direction.

[hasaknightjob]

(Maybe not judgey so much as an eyeroll but yes.)

Steven followed happily. "I think I can manage that."

Into their room they went, the tie being tossed only somewhat haphazardly on to the dresser before Watts pulled Steven down on to the bed and kissed him soundly.

Steven clearly wasn't the only one distracted, as Watts apparently had forgotten a step here.

If they were on the bed there was no danger of stumbling. Clearly Llewellyn was only looking out for their safety.

Steven tried to show his appreciation of such thoughtfulness with his kisses.

Safety first, always!

Watts rolled over on the bed so Steven was sprawled on top of him, all while responding to those kisses with equal enthusiasm.

Steven laughed, delighted at their new position. He shifted to make himself comfortable on top of Llewellyn as he kept kissing, murmuring, "Love you" between each one.

"Hmmm," Watts wasn't quite able to get a word (or two specific ones) in edgewise between Steven's, but he could hum happily in to those kisses.

Happy hums were more than all right. Steven indicated that by lightly rocking his hips forward, to help show he was enjoying himself as well.

That was pleasant indeed, Watts's own body bucking upwards slightly in response to that pleasant friction.
