Midnight Manor Private Residence, Monday Evening

A Thanksgiving feast, even when just for two(ish) people, was still a feast, and thus had required both yesterday and today to be properly prepared. Most of the dishes were the same as last year: the main along with the side dishes of vegetables, potatoes, and stuffing. And yes, of course there were dinner rolls.

New this year was a soup and simple garden salad. Dessert was also the same as last year, with apple cake and butter tarts (along with a batch of the non-vegan variety that had been set aside for Marc).

"It looks fantastic," Watts said, surveying everything laid out on the dining room table. "Will you light the candles, then, while I go fetch us a bottle of wine?"

Steven started to hold Llewellyn's tie tighter to keep him near. Then, dimly, realized he could run the risk of choking the love of his life if he did. He pulled enough away from the kiss to gasp, "Clothes."

Some people were in to the whole choking thing. Watts... was not one of those, so he appreciated Steven's, er. Restraint. For lack of a better word.

"Yes," he managed in agreement, because they were in fact still wearing those.

"Small break?" Steven suggested, though he was breathing heavily. "Dishes and - and clothing and upstairs?"

Perhaps not in that exact order.

And while Watts had stopped kissing, his hand had not stopped moving- until now. "I suppose," he agreed with a sigh.

Steven looked uncertain. "Did I say the wrong thing? What you were doing was wonderful, I promise."

"No, no, you're fine," Watts said. "I just- got a little caught up in the moment, is all."

[hasaknightjob]

"You're sure?" Steven asked. He relaxed all the same, knowing Llewellyn wouldn't lie. "Sorry. I worry I ruin the mood, you see. I wanted more of it, I promise. That's why I wanted to go upstairs."

"I am certain. You are correct, it will be much nicer in our bed, without the obstacle created by clothing," Watts said with a smile.

[hasaknightjob]

"All right then," Steven said. He smoothed down Llewellyn's tie. "Because you're very handsome and desirable, I promise."

"Mmm, and my dilemma was that I find you exceptionally desirable, and thus enjoy being the one to bring you pleasure."

[hasaknightjob]

"Yes. Well." Steven blushed. "Thank you. Erm - we could show each other? That? When we're upstairs?"

Steven was still not very good at dirty talk.

"Let us do that, then," Watts said, leaning in to place a very quick kiss- a peck, really, on Steven's lips. "Up with us."

"Right, me first," Steven said, sheepishly as he remembered. He untangled himself from Llewellyn so they could both get up. "Hard for you to stand with me on top of you."

"Though let it be noted it is a position I have no complaints about otherwise," Watts said as he unfolded himself from the couch.

"I found it rather comfortable," Steven agreed. He picked up his plate and teacup to bring into the kitchen. "Could do it again sometime, when we're not in need of going somewhere."

Like upstairs to their bedroom.

"I'd like that," Watts agreed, likewise collecting his dishes.

[hasaknightjob]

"Perhaps with a cozy fire?" Steven said. "I thought about it tonight but - er - sort of suspected we wouldn't be staying long."

"A fire sounds very romantic," Watts agreed, gently bumping Steven's shoulder with his own.

[hasaknightjob]

"Some chilly afternoon perhaps," Steven said. He put his dishes into the dishwashing cupboard. "You, me, fire, tea, good books."

"And we shall have a number of those coming up," Watts said. "Chilly afternoons, that is."

[hasaknightjob]

"Good light from the fire too," Steven said. He lightly put his hand on Llewellyn's back in an acknowledgement of how the colder months were also darker. "Maybe a way to help in the evenings as well?"

Watts nodded, taking a moment to rest his head on Steven's shoulder.

Steven moved his hand so the light touch was now hugging Llewellyn around his waist. "And Midnight makes sure it never gets too dark inside."

"It's very good about that," Watts acknowledged. "Always a sliver of light at the very least, fro somewhere."

[hasaknightjob]

"Because we take care of each other in this family," Steven said. "Midnight and all."
