A Cabin in South Tyrol, Italy, Friday Evening

A day spent indoors had been followed by one where Watts and Steven had visited the nearby town for lunch, as well as a bit of shopping (wine, of course, and a souvenir for Raphael, among other things), and then today?

Well, it had started with a lie-in, followed by French toast for a late (very late) breakfast, and then there had been a knock at the door with some flower deliveries - truly impressive, really, how the Student Council had known to deliver them here despite neither Steven nor Watts providing anyone explicit details regarding their destination.

There had been at least one other delivery as well, thankfully when Steven had been occupied in a manner that meant he hadn't seen who was at the door, which allowed Watts to stash said delivery in the sleeping area with one of his suit jackets to cover it.

And that wasn't even the last of it! Dinner had been dropped off from a not-quite-local restaurant, and having just poured their wine glasses, Watts pulled out Steven's chair with a flourish. "Here we are," he declared.

"With the perfect company," Steven said, looking right at him. In case there was any doubt.

"My idea of that is sat right here with me," Watts said, reaching out to brush his fingers across Steven's cheek.

"Funny thing," Steven said. He leaned into Llewellyn's touch. "Mine's sat right here with me."

"Isn't that interesting?" Watts said.

"Remarkable coincidence," Steven agreed. He smiled. "I like this. The idea we'd do a cabin again. I'd like it very much."

The heart eyes were back again. "I love you," Watts declared.

"I love you too," Steven said. "I must admit it's a relief you're so happy about it."

"Why wouldn't I have been happy about it?" Watts asked, puzzled.

[hasaknightjob]

"Because it's not camping," Steven said.

It made sense to him.

[pocketpretzels]

"It's still going somewhere to spend time with you," Watts pointed out. "And as you said, you're not ruling out proper camping in a tent in place of only ever doing this."

Steven nodded, just to emphasize that indeed he was not ruling out camping.

"Bit like ice skating," Steven said. He gestured around them with his fork. "A thing I didn't know I liked until I tried it."

"Precisely," Watts said, beaming brilliantly at him. "How could I ever be anything but happy about that?"

Steven couldn't help but smile back. He had his own heart eyes now. "You're wonderful, you know. Amazing."

"I- thank you?" Watts said, not entirely certain what he'd said was worth such praise, but going with it.

Steven gave Llewellyn a kiss on the cheek for the thanks.

"You care so much about my happiness," Steven said. "About me finding things I like. Means a great deal to me."

"Well, I love you," Watts said. "And it's- it means a great deal. That you trust me to be beside you for that journey."

"It's exciting, isn't it?" Steven said with a smile. "To have found another one?"

"That it is," Watts said, and now it was his turn to lean over and offer Steven a kiss on the cheek. "Another way for us to make memories together."

Activities like ice skating in theory being the sort of thing he could do with other friends while not in Watts's company. Staying in a cabin, however, was clearly an activity meant for them to share.

"That's a poetic way to put it," Steven said, once more looking at him fondly. "Any wonder you're my Valentine?"

"A wonderful thing indeed, being your Valentine," Watts replied. Which wasn't quite what Steven had said, but details.

"I know it's all a bit of fun," Steven said. "The holiday. But I still like that I have a Valentine. Someone to buy a bouquet for. Flowers or otherwise."

"Oh, I agree," Watts said. "Even as I would buy you flowers any day of the week. But there's something special about doing so today."

"I love your flower surprises," Steven said. "At the museum? They always make me smile."

"That is my intent," Watts said with a fond smile. "I do so adore your smile."

"Should I send you pictures of me, then?" Steven asked. "When I get them? Smiling?"
