A Cabin in South Tyrol, Italy, Friday Evening

A day spent indoors had been followed by one where Watts and Steven had visited the nearby town for lunch, as well as a bit of shopping (wine, of course, and a souvenir for Raphael, among other things), and then today?

Well, it had started with a lie-in, followed by French toast for a late (very late) breakfast, and then there had been a knock at the door with some flower deliveries - truly impressive, really, how the Student Council had known to deliver them here despite neither Steven nor Watts providing anyone explicit details regarding their destination.

There had been at least one other delivery as well, thankfully when Steven had been occupied in a manner that meant he hadn't seen who was at the door, which allowed Watts to stash said delivery in the sleeping area with one of his suit jackets to cover it.

And that wasn't even the last of it! Dinner had been dropped off from a not-quite-local restaurant, and having just poured their wine glasses, Watts pulled out Steven's chair with a flourish. "Here we are," he declared.

Watts met him partway, tangling their fingers together and squeezing tight as the kiss went on.

Steven squeezed back, clinging. When he finally parted from the kiss he said, "Sorry. Don't know why I'm in a mood all of a sudden."

Watts had been brought to tears earlier in the week over similar sentiments, so.

"Nothing you need to apologise for, darling."

"See?" Steven said, his smile a little watery. "There you are being wonderful again."

"It's easy when it's you," Watts said, caressing Steven's cheek.

If Steven thought about it, he might realize the impending time of year was what was making things weigh down on him. But on the other hand he had a wonderful and understanding beau right in front of him, and that was much more pleasant to think about.

"After dinner, may I have a dance?" Steven asked. "Is that easy as well?"

And as that day got closer, Watts might prod Steven a little to actually acknowledge those feelings. But today being Valentine's day, he was willing to let it go.

"If you didn't ask, I was going to," Watts admitted.

Steven's smile was less watery this time. "Still could."

"Steven Grant, would you do me the honour of dancing with me following our meal?"

Even though Steven knew the ask was coming, he still gave Llewellyn a besotted look. "I would be delighted."

"I had hoped you'd say that," Watts replied with a smile of his own, even though yes, he knew that answer had been coming.

"Any excuse to get my arms around you, really," Steven said.

"Flirt," Watts replied.

[hasaknightjob]

"Handsome," Steven countered.

Then, so it was clear, "You, that is. Are handsome. Easy to flirt with."

"I enjoy you flirting with me," Watts said. "And flirting back. My rare one."

"My dearest," Steven replied. He tried adding a saucy wink to that. It was Steven, though, so while winking was achieved the saucy part was debatable.

It might not have been successfully saucy but much like nearly everything Steven did, Watts certainly found it charming.

"You're going to make me hungry for dessert already." And they still had a spätzle to get through!

"Best keep eating then," Steven suggested. He offered Llewellyn a piece of carrot from his plate.

Watts took it with a smile. "Faster we finish, faster we can have that dance," he agreed. And other things. Like the other sort of dessert.

"Precisely," Steven said, pointing at him with his fork. "And it's no good dancing when hungry."

"Hard to enjoy that way," Watts agreed. Hunger for something not food was another story entirely, of course.

"Good to make sure we have stamina as well," Steven said.

Which applied to all sorts of dancing, really.

"Very important," Watts nodded, hint of a smirk playing at the corners of his mouth. Some might even call it saucy.

Perhaps the sauciness was why Steven leaned over to kiss the corner of Llewellyn's mouth. Or Steven just wanted to kiss him. Or perhaps both.

"Can't have either of us getting too tired before the day is over," Steven said. "There's plenty of romance to come."

"I do like the sound of that," Watts murmured.
