A Cabin in South Tyrol, Italy, Friday Evening

A day spent indoors had been followed by one where Watts and Steven had visited the nearby town for lunch, as well as a bit of shopping (wine, of course, and a souvenir for Raphael, among other things), and then today?

Well, it had started with a lie-in, followed by French toast for a late (very late) breakfast, and then there had been a knock at the door with some flower deliveries - truly impressive, really, how the Student Council had known to deliver them here despite neither Steven nor Watts providing anyone explicit details regarding their destination.

There had been at least one other delivery as well, thankfully when Steven had been occupied in a manner that meant he hadn't seen who was at the door, which allowed Watts to stash said delivery in the sleeping area with one of his suit jackets to cover it.

And that wasn't even the last of it! Dinner had been dropped off from a not-quite-local restaurant, and having just poured their wine glasses, Watts pulled out Steven's chair with a flourish. "Here we are," he declared.

"Ah," Watts nodded knowingly. "I believe I may know of whom you speak. A lucky man indeed, this detective, as he's found himself a treasure beyond compare in his sweetheart."

"A detective and a treasure hunter as well?" Steven asked. "He's rather talented."

"Yes, well," Watts blushed. "All the better to attract the attention of a particular gentleman."

"Someone who writes songs, perhaps?" Steven suggested.

"His skill with words is not limited to songs," Watts said. "He's also a clever storyteller."

[hasaknightjob]

"Is he?" Steven asked. "Good stories? Nice ones?"

"Wonderfully romantic ones," Watts said with a nod.

"Happy endings?" Steven asked. "True love found even by those who thought it might be impossible?"

[pocketpretzels]

"Happy endings," Watts affirmed. "And true love." One hand moved to tilt Steven's chin up so he could then lean in for a kiss.

Steven kissed back, melting against Llewellyn as he made a soft sigh of utter contentment.

"I would say this detective of yours is an incredibly lucky man," Watts said softly.

"Funnily enough, this writer considers himself to be rather lucky," Steven replied. He nuzzled Llewellyn's cheek. "Very much so."

"I think that works out rather wonderfully, don't you?" Watts asked, leaning in to that touch.

[hasaknightjob]

"A romantic story all its own, one might say." Steven attempted to dance with his cheek pressed against Llewellyn's.

"And how does this one end?" Watts wondered.

[hasaknightjob]

"The clever detective figures out that the lyrics were about him all along," Steven said. "And he and the writer live happily ever after. Now and always."

"What a wonderful story," Watts said. "All the better for it being a true one."

[hasaknightjob]

"They do say you should write what you know," Steven said. He pressed a kiss to Llewellyn's cheek. "I know what it's like to be loved by a wonderful man."

"Matter of fact, so do I," Watts replied. "It's an amazing feeling."

[hasaknightjob]

"It is, isn't it?" Steven said. He smiled up at Llewellyn. "Makes you feel all warm inside. No fire necessary."

Though the fire was nice. Llewellyn always looked so handsome in the light of it.

"Not that sort of fire, at least," Watts agreed, the heat in his eyes probably hinting at what sort of fire he did associate with Steven.

Steven blushed, picking up on at least some of that meaning, yes.

"All sorts," he replied. "Good ones."

Watts's right hand slid down, until it came to a rest on Steven's backside.

That got a very small squeak of surprise from Steven. He pressed closer, making it easier for both of them to enjoy that change in dance form.

Was it proper waltz position? Not at all. Did Watts particularly care? Not at all. It was just nice, especially with Steven pressed up against him like that.
