Midnight Manor Private Residence, Saturday Morning

The heating pad had helped a great deal to soothe the ache in his arm, though at some point during the night Watts still found himself awake and restless. He scribbled a quick note for Steven and headed downstairs to make himself a cup of tea.

Fandom being Fandom, he never made it back upstairs, and thus come Saturday morning there was a tiny Llewellyn Watts fast asleep on the library couch, one arm slung over an equally fast asleep Raphael, who was laid out next to him.

"Ours should smell nice too?" Llewellyn said cautiously. "But nice for people. Not cats."

"Agreed," Steven said. "And taste nice for people, not cats."

Llewellyn nodded. "Yes," he said. "P'cisely."

"Let me put in an order for our breakfast," Steven said, "And then perhaps you can help me feed Raphael while we wait?"

"But he's still sleepin'" Llewellyn pointed out. "I don't want to wake him if he's tired." Which he might end up doing if he moved, oh no.

"He'll be happy to wake up for breakfast," Steven assured him. To prove it, he quietly said in the cat's direction, "Raphael? Would you like breakfast now?"

Raphael was a very smart cat, and as a very smart cat, there were some human words he could recognise. 'Breakfast' was absolutely one of them (a lot of them were food-related, actually, for some reason), and so yes, his eyes opened and his ears visibly perked up at Steven's question.

"Oh!" Llewellyn giggled, sitting up now that it was evident moving wouldn't upset the cat.

"See?" Steven said. "He's a good lad who knows it's time to eat. Would you like to help me feed him?"

"I won't spill like last time!" That was... probably wishful thinking, to be honest, but a spill of either water or cat food was hardly the end of the world.

"Even if you do it's all right," Steven said. He stood up and held a hand out for Llewellyn to take if he wanted. "Anything spilled is easily cleaned. No harm done."

Raphael sprang up off the couch, landing neatly on the floor and prompting another pleased giggle from Llewellyn, who, yes, absolutely took that offered hand as he scrambled off the couch.

"I believe we have oranges here as well," Steven said. He headed to the kitchen, swinging his and Llewellyn's hands as he did just for the fun of it. "You could have one while we wait for delivery."

"That means I get two oranges?" Llewellyn squeaked. The only reason he wasn't awed by the concept of meal delivery itself was because it had been explained to him last time he'd been here.

"Let's see how your appetite goes," Steven said. "We want to leave room for waffles, don't we? But if you can't eat two oranges now you could have one now and one later."

Steven didn't want Llewellyn worrying that food might be limited.

Llewellyn nodded. "One now and one later. Promise?"

"Promise," Steven said.

They reached the kitchen. Steven got the food out for Raphael since it was high up. "Do you think you can pour the food for him to eat?"

"I can be real careful," Llewellyn nodded.

"Good lad," Steven said, handing him the food. "I'll take care of the water."

Llewellyn took the food and- with great care (or as much care as a six-ish-year-old could manage), poured it in to the cat's food bowl.

Despite said care, a few pieces of food did manage to miss the bowl and skitter across the kitchen floor. Wide-eyed and a little nervous, Llewellyn looked at Steven to see what he would say.

"Well done!" Steven said, giving him a reassuring smile. "Hardly any spilled. I wager Raphael can help us out by gobbling up those few bits that missed."

Llewellyn relaxed. "It's not wasted?" he checked.

[hasaknightjob]

"Not at all," Steven assured him. He pointed to Raphael crunching down on a piece from the floor. "See? He's happy for his breakfast."

"He's really hungry!" Llewellyn giggled, watching Raphael track down those loose bits before heading for his bowl.

[hasaknightjob]

"It's breakfast. He's hungry like we are, isn't he?" Steven put a bowl of water down beside Raphael, then got out his mobile. He looked around for the glasses that were kept in the kitchen so he could put in the order for delivery.

Upon thinking about it, he realized if Llewellyn was small there was a chance others in the boarding house were too. He assumed Midnight would alert him if anyone was in danger. And there were odds they weren't little as well. Still, couldn't hurt to be cautious. So in addition to the waffles for himself and Llewellyn, Steven put in an order for an assortment of bagels, spreads, and fruits. Those could be eaten by anyone regardless of age.

"There we are! Food is on its way."

"Crackerjack!" Llewellyn said, clearly impressed.
