Midnight Manor Private Residence, Saturday Morning

The heating pad had helped a great deal to soothe the ache in his arm, though at some point during the night Watts still found himself awake and restless. He scribbled a quick note for Steven and headed downstairs to make himself a cup of tea.

Fandom being Fandom, he never made it back upstairs, and thus come Saturday morning there was a tiny Llewellyn Watts fast asleep on the library couch, one arm slung over an equally fast asleep Raphael, who was laid out next to him.

"I wanna draw you one now!" Llewellyn declared, around his last mouthful of waffle.

"I would like that," Steven said. "But we should check on the others in the building to see if they need breakfast as well. Would you like to keep me company while I do that?"

Llewellyn nodded quickly. "Yes, yes. I would like to come with you. Yes."

"Could you help me put things away in the dishwashing cupboard first?" Steven asked. "Then we'll go check on the others?"

Llewellyn nodded excitedly. Though the nod was followed by a glance over at the dishwashing cupboard and then to Steven, hesitant expression on his face.

"Something worrying you?" Steven asked.

[pocketpretzels]

"Nooooo," Llewellyn shook his head, because it wasn't a worry.

[hasaknightjob]

"Something on your mind?" Steven asked, if that would help.

[pocketpretzels]

Llewellyn nodded, still looking a little uncertain.

[hasaknightjob]

"I'd like to know what it is, if you feel comfortable telling me," Steven said. "I promise I won't be cross."

"Can- could- could I press the button?" Llewellyn asked. "To make it go?"

Steven's smile grew wider, glad that it wasn't something troubling the lad. "Of course. Would you like to help me add the soap as well?"

Was the dishwasher going to be full enough to need to be run once they put the breakfast plates in? Probably not. Did Steven care? Also no.

Llewellyn nodded excitedly in response to that question.

"Are you done eating for now?" Steven asked. "Haven't rushed yourself?"

"I want my orange," Llewellyn reminded Steven. "Then I will be done."

"Just checking your tummy wasn't too full," Steven said. "Would you like it sliced again?"

Llewellyn shook his head. "The other way," he told Steven.

"Easy enough," Steven said. He got another orange and started to peel it so that Llewellyn could have it in sections.

And Llewellyn watched this whole process with open and avid curiosity. "Neat!"

"Would you like to try getting part of the peel off?" Steven asked. He held out the orange where he'd already loosened a sizable bit and all anyone needed to do was give a light tug to make it let go. "Like there?"

Llewellyn reached out and pulled as instructed, coming away with a piece of orange peel roughly the size of a quarter. "Like that?"

"Exactly that!" Steven said, giving him a proud look. "Well done. That can be hard on the fingers."

[pocketpretzels]

Llewellyn brought his hand up close to his face so he could give his fingers a careful inspection. "They smell orange-y!" he reported.

Steven chuckled. "I wager they do. We can wash our hands before we go so we don't get orange all over things."

Llewellyn giggled at the thought. "That'd be funny."

The little piece of orange peel was getting tucked away in a pocket, though.
