Midnight Manor Private Residence, Saturday Morning

The heating pad had helped a great deal to soothe the ache in his arm, though at some point during the night Watts still found himself awake and restless. He scribbled a quick note for Steven and headed downstairs to make himself a cup of tea.

Fandom being Fandom, he never made it back upstairs, and thus come Saturday morning there was a tiny Llewellyn Watts fast asleep on the library couch, one arm slung over an equally fast asleep Raphael, who was laid out next to him.

That seemed reasonable, so Llewellyn nodded.

"All right," Steven said. He picked up the ramekin. "Hand over mine then so you can guide me?"

Llewellyn reached out and put his tiny hand on top of Steven's as directed.

"Good lad," Steven said. He tilted his hand to carefully drizzle honey over Llewellyn's waffles. "Say when you'd like us to stop."

"Now, now!" Llewellyn said, after Steven had been pouring for a few seconds. "That's enough."

"Yes, sir," Steven said, with a friendly tone to make it clear he was happy Llewellyn had spoken up. He lifted the ramekin away and put it on a napkin to catch any stray drops of honey. "Shall we tuck in to our breakfasts then? Anything else you'd like?"

"Will you cut the rest of the pieces?" he asked Steven.

"I can indeed," Steven said. He picked up Llewellyn's fork and knife to do just that.

"You're much betterer at that than me," Llewellyn observed.

A fact that carried over even when he was his adult self.

"I've had more practice," Steven said. Which was not the difference when it came to Llewellyn's adult self, but tiny Llewellyn didn't need to know that. "Would you like to put your hands on mine as I cut so you can help me?"

"Can I?" Llewellyn asked, wide-eyed.

[hasaknightjob]

"Of course," Steven said. He looked at their position. "Hmm. Might be better if I stand behind you? If that's all right?"

Llewellyn nodded. "That's all right."

Steven stood behind Llewellyn and leaned in so that it was easier for Llewellyn to put his hands on top of Steven's as he cut. "There. Try that?"

Once again, tiny hands settled over bigger ones. Llewellyn tilted his head so he could look up at Steven. "Like that?"

"Just like that," Steven said. He started cutting up Llewellyn's waffle, going slowly so it was easy for Llewellyn to follow along.

Llewellyn giggled softly as he 'helped' cut the pieces.

"There's a good lad," Steven said as they finished up. "Now it's all ready for eating."

Hopefully the smile he got in return was a decent stand-in for a verbal 'thank you', because Llewellyn was terrible at those.

He dug in to his plate with gusto, eating a few bites of waffle before messily spearing one of the banana pieces with his fork and putting that in his mouth.

If Steven was watching him eat, he'd see one hell of a face journey as Llewellyn clearly contemplated spitting it back out, but then reconsidered, chewing and swallowing.

Steven sat down on the stool beside him to eat. He noticed Llewellyn's expression. "Is everything all right?"

Llewellyn shook his head. "No."

He was eyeing that other piece of banana with some trepidation, though.

"What's the matter?" Steven asked, now worried.

[pocketpretzels]

"It's- it tastes funny," Llewellyn said quietly.

[hasaknightjob]

"Funny like something wrong or funny like you don't care for it?" Steven asked.

[pocketpretzels]

"Um," Llewellyn thought about it. "Both?"
