Midnight Manor Private Residence, Saturday Morning

The heating pad had helped a great deal to soothe the ache in his arm, though at some point during the night Watts still found himself awake and restless. He scribbled a quick note for Steven and headed downstairs to make himself a cup of tea.

Fandom being Fandom, he never made it back upstairs, and thus come Saturday morning there was a tiny Llewellyn Watts fast asleep on the library couch, one arm slung over an equally fast asleep Raphael, who was laid out next to him.

"Two pieces," Llewellyn nodded.

"Two pieces," Steven confirmed. He cut two small squares of waffle and then stepped back. "There you are. Now you can try your syrup and honey. Would you like juice with your breakfast as well?"

Llewellyn glanced at his mug of only partially finished tea, and then back at Steven, unsure. Tea and juice?

"We've orange and apple?" Steven said, thinking that the problem was that Llewellyn didn't know his options.

"Orange and apple?" Llewellyn echoed, eyes wide.

[hasaknightjob]

"Two separate juices," Steven explained, in case that had been confusing. "Not the same."

"But two juices?" Llewellyn was still sort of awestruck by that.

[hasaknightjob]

"I think one to start for you?" Steven said. "And then we'll see how it goes?"

Steven was already mentally thinking of using a smaller glass so that Llewellyn could have two if he wanted without having too much sugar.

Look, there were two juices, two milks, tea, and magic indoor water and ice.

It was a lot to take in. Even without literally taking it all in. "Orange," Llewellyn said decisively. If he could only have one it was going to be the one he'd only ever had the last time he was here.

"All right," Steven said, going to pour him a glass of it and one for himself as well. "You can have apple later if you like."

Llewellyn nodded, carefully spearing one of his waffle pieces with a fork and dipping it in the maple syrup before popping it in his mouth and chewing thoughtfully. He then repeated the process with the honey.

"I like the honey better?" he said, a little tentatively.

"Then you should have honey with your waffles," Steven said. "Would you like to pour the honey before I cut?"

"I don't want to spill it," Llewellyn shook his head.

[hasaknightjob]

"Would you like to hold my hand while I pour?" Steven asked. "So that way you can help me know when it's just right?"

[pocketpretzels]

That seemed reasonable, so Llewellyn nodded.

[hasaknightjob]

"All right," Steven said. He picked up the ramekin. "Hand over mine then so you can guide me?"

Llewellyn reached out and put his tiny hand on top of Steven's as directed.

"Good lad," Steven said. He tilted his hand to carefully drizzle honey over Llewellyn's waffles. "Say when you'd like us to stop."

"Now, now!" Llewellyn said, after Steven had been pouring for a few seconds. "That's enough."

[hasaknightjob]

"Yes, sir," Steven said, with a friendly tone to make it clear he was happy Llewellyn had spoken up. He lifted the ramekin away and put it on a napkin to catch any stray drops of honey. "Shall we tuck in to our breakfasts then? Anything else you'd like?"

"Will you cut the rest of the pieces?" he asked Steven.

[hasaknightjob]

"I can indeed," Steven said. He picked up Llewellyn's fork and knife to do just that.

"You're much betterer at that than me," Llewellyn observed.

A fact that carried over even when he was his adult self.

[hasaknightjob]

"I've had more practice," Steven said. Which was not the difference when it came to Llewellyn's adult self, but tiny Llewellyn didn't need to know that. "Would you like to put your hands on mine as I cut so you can help me?"

"Can I?" Llewellyn asked, wide-eyed.
