The Flat in London, Saturday Afternoon

Watts had Steven had barely unpacked from their trip to Quebec when there had been a call regarding a minor but urgent issue regarding some legal paperwork back in London. So- back into suitcases clothing went, only this time-

This time in addition to Marc also packing some things as he'd be needed for aforementioned legal paperwork business, they were bringing Raphael with them. Both because they felt a little badly about leaving the cat again so soon and they'd talked about possibly giving him an opportunity to explore the flat in London. See how he liked it, that sort of thing.

Now it was Saturday afternoon, the legal business had all been taken care of, and they were lingering before catching a portal back to Fandom tomorrow. Lingering in the kitchen specifically, with the ingredients for chocolate chip cookies laid out before them.

"You see?" Watts said. "Precisely. Much rather take you for a spin around the kitchen."

Even if this kitchen was much smaller than the one in Fandom.

"Perhaps when the biscuits are in the oven?" Steven asked, looking hopeful.

Not that they would be in the oven long, but long enough for a dance or two.

"Ah, you've deduced my secret plan!" Watts said, grinning. "I was going to ask you if you'd care to."

"I do care to, actually," Steven said. "Very much. Right, have we added the vanilla? Up to the flour and all then?"

[pocketpretzels]

"Oh!" Watts blinked. "Vanilla. Yes, of course. I'd nearly forgotten." Look, holding Steven was very distracting. "Thank you, darling. That, then flour and the rest of the dry ingredients save the chocolate."

"I'll get those measured?" Steven offered.

[pocketpretzels]

"Perfect," Watts nodded as he reached for the vanilla. "Thank you, darling."

[hasaknightjob]

"You're welcome, dear," Steven replied. He then grinned to himself happily as he got to measuring, those little nicknames meaning a great deal to him.

Watts felt similarly regarding those nicknames, casual tokens of affection easily exchanged.

"Whenever you're ready," he directed, once the vanilla was incorporated.

"Ready," Steven said as he added the flour and other dry ingredients. He only got a little bit of flour dust on his shirt in the process.

Such were the hazards of baking, alas. Though it did mean Watts could lean in and brush said flour dust from his chest before offering a quick kiss.

Steven took that kiss to fortify him before he finished adding the dry ingredients. "At least we've no little paw prints over the counter?"

"Not with himself all tuckered out as he is," Watts agreed, with a glance over towards the bed where Raphael was indeed still snoozing away.

Steven glanced in that direction as well, then took advantage of how he had to contort to see around the bookshelves to sneak a kiss on Llewellyn's cheek.

With a smirk, Watts turned his head to then give Steven a proper kiss before they resumed with the dough mixing.

Steven made a happy sound before he resumed his stirring. "These will taste wonderful. Loads of love."

"The only proper way to go about it," Watts agreed, moving to stand behind Steven again so he could wrap his arms around him once more.

Steven leaned back as he stirred. He took a look at the results, then said, "I think that's got it? Add the chips now?"

Watts rested his chin on Steven's shoulder as he peered at the bowl. "Perfect," he declared.

"Thank you, but I was asking about the dough," Steven said.

His grin was very proud.

"Cheeky," Watts declared fondly. "The dough's perfect as well."

[hasaknightjob]

"You add the chips and I'll fold them in then?" Steven suggested.

[pocketpretzels]

"I suppose that's a fair division of labour, even if it does mean letting go of you," Watts sighed.

[hasaknightjob]

"My thought was then you'd come back," Steven explained. He mimed pouring chips into the bowl. "See? Only need one hand for that. Could hold me with the other."

"Ah, I like your thinking," Watts said. He unwrapped himself from Steven, left hand sliding a little lower and coming to rest on Steven's backside, which he gave a little pat as he grabbed the chips with his right and poured them in, making sure to add just a little more than was strictly called for.
