The Flat in London, Saturday Afternoon

Watts had Steven had barely unpacked from their trip to Quebec when there had been a call regarding a minor but urgent issue regarding some legal paperwork back in London. So- back into suitcases clothing went, only this time-

This time in addition to Marc also packing some things as he'd be needed for aforementioned legal paperwork business, they were bringing Raphael with them. Both because they felt a little badly about leaving the cat again so soon and they'd talked about possibly giving him an opportunity to explore the flat in London. See how he liked it, that sort of thing.

Now it was Saturday afternoon, the legal business had all been taken care of, and they were lingering before catching a portal back to Fandom tomorrow. Lingering in the kitchen specifically, with the ingredients for chocolate chip cookies laid out before them.

"We'll try the edge, I think," Watts said, giving it some thought. "Carefully."

Though if the cat woke up and demanded attention, so long as he didn't try and sneak off with a cookie, that would be perfectly all right.

If there had to be snuggling of a kitty to make amends for the lack of biscuits given to kitties, Steven was prepared to make the sacrifice.

"I think we'll have enough room," Steven said. He filled the kettle with water and set it to heat up. Then he turned to Llewellyn and held his arms out. "Another go?"

"Don't mind if I do," Watts said, pulling him in close.

"Lucky me," Steven said, snuggling in close. "I'd hate if you minded."

"Something wrong if I did," Watts said. "If I were ill, perhaps."

"Replaced by someone who only pretended to be you," Steven suggested. Though he held Llewellyn tighter, as though to prevent such a thing.

"I think you'd be able to tell," Watts said. "Before it got to that point. You know me, after all. Better than anyone."

"True." Steven looked at Llewellyn fondly. "I like that. Knowing you from tops to tails."

"And I certainly hope you'd tell me should I grow a tail," Watts said, amused.

[hasaknightjob]

"Ideally before you sit down," Steven agreed, similarly amused.

"Wouldn't that be a surprise," Watts said drily.

Steven started giggling as a mental image came to him. "Your poor trousers!"

"I'd have to get them all altered!" Watts agreed. Yes, he could mend things, but he'd never tried anything more complicated.

"I wonder if your tail would show your mood even if you were trying to hide it?" Steven said, musing aloud more than anything. "Like when Raphael thinks he's cleverly hidden behind the curtains but his tail is sticking out."

"Oh, I don't know if I'd care for that," Watts shook his head. "Frankly, if it's tales we're speaking of, I vastly prefer yours."

"My tail - " Steven started to say, then he realized the meaning that came with the plural. He gave a burst of laughter.

Don't mind Watts, who was just going to look immensely proud of that one, thanks.

As well he should, because Steven was still giggling.

"It's true, too," Watts said, still looking pleased.

"Thank you," Steven said, when he managed to speak again. "I like that you do. Means a great deal to me."

"You're very welcome," Watts said. "It's an honour that you share them with me."

"It means a great deal that you like them," Steven said. He looked thoughtful. "I suppose it's like your music, isn't it? When you play for me and I get to enjoy it. I can be your biggest fan."

"I suppose it is, somewhat," Watts nodded. "Though I am reproducing the work of others, not composing my own pieces."

[hasaknightjob]

"Still your hard work," Steven said. "Learning how to do it. Your personality's in it as well, even if someone else wrote it."

"That's true, isn't it?" Watts agreed.
