Midnight Manor Private Residence, Saturday Evening

After their usual jaunt over to the mainland, Watts had headed to the kitchen to do a bit of baking, and then to the library for some piano practice.

And as he'd told Steven the other day at lunch, he was close to mastering the piece he was currently working on. Maddeningly close, in fact. So absorbed was he in getting to the point where he could play it through without a stumble that he did not notice as the hour ticked over past that where he usually stopped for the evening so he and Steven could have dinner together. Instead, he kept playing, and playing, single-minded in his determination to finally master the piece.

Steven pretended not to see him as he handed the plate over.

Watts stretched out, sliding Steven's now empty plate on to the coffee table. All while fully asleep, of course.

Likewise Steven couldn't possibly be giggling, because that would mean he'd seen this happen. Any soft sounds to that effect were an illusion. Much like a sleeping person putting a plate on a table.

Once said plate was safely there, though, Steven looked thoughtful again. "Hmm. I wonder what sort of kiss would work?"

"Start light and go from there," was the suggestion.

"Good idea."

Steven bent down and placed a light kiss... on Llewellyn's forehead.

Which certainly didn't elicit a huff of laughter.

"On the lips."

[hasaknightjob]

"Hum?" Steven asked, innocently. "Nose?"

Steven moved to place a light kiss on Llewellyn's nose next.

"That is not-" Well, it wasn't, but it did feel nice, so the complaint was halted mid-way.

"Perhaps I should try lower?" Steven said, as though musing to himself.

With that he brushed a very light kiss over Llewellyn's lips.

"That's the spot."

[hasaknightjob]

"Oh good," Steven said. He tried another, longer kiss.

"Mmm, almost."

[hasaknightjob]

"Have to keep trying," Steven said. He went in for an even longer kiss.

Watts eyes snapped open. "Hello, you."

[hasaknightjob]

Steven beamed down at him. "Hello, you. Do we get a happily ever after now?"

"I believe that is how the stories go," Watts agreed. "I'd very much like a happily ever after with you."

Steven caressed Llewellyn's cheek. "I'd like one with you as well, my dearest prince."

[pocketpretzels]

"Glad we're agreed on that," Watts said. "My Gentleman Knight."

[hasaknightjob]

Steven began running his fingers through Llewellyn's hair. "Lucky me, handsome prince all my own."

[pocketpretzels]

Watts resisted the urge to let his eyes drift closed again, no matter how nice Steven's fingers in his hair felt. "Lucky me as well, to have a Knight who considers me a prince," he replied.

Steven looked delighted. "I am your knight, aren't I? That works out nicely. Perhaps I should be writing this down."

"Mmm, but then you'd have to get up, wouldn't you?" Watts said, a note of complaint in his voice. "To get paper."

"I didn't say now," Steven said. "More as a concept. It might be a nice story."

[pocketpretzels]

"Oh," Watts relaxed again. "Well. Yes. You're not wrong there."

[hasaknightjob]

"You think?" Steven asked. He'd been nervous about suggesting it. His anxiety couldn't help but make him wonder if Llewellyn's protest had been a sign he shouldn't pursue it. "It's only - well it's a fairy tale, isn't it? Sweet, I thought."
