After their usual jaunt over to the mainland, Watts had headed to the kitchen to do a bit of baking, and then to the library for some piano practice.

And as he'd told Steven the other day at lunch, he was close to mastering the piece he was currently working on. Maddeningly close, in fact. So absorbed was he in getting to the point where he could play it through without a stumble that he did not notice as the hour ticked over past that where he usually stopped for the evening so he and Steven could have dinner together. Instead, he kept playing, and playing, single-minded in his determination to finally master the piece.

Watts gave the couch a long, considering look, and then nodded. The couch was comfortable, but their bed would be better.

Steven gave Llewellyn a kiss, then smiled at him. "Shall we put all this away so our little one doesn't try eating the scraps?"

"Excellent idea," Watts said, uncurling himself from Steven to start reaching for the takeout containers.

Steven did the same for their glasses and wine, making a mirror of when they'd brought everything into the room in the first place.

Speaking of mirrors, Watts leaned in for a quick kiss before they took everything back to the kitchen to be put away.

Steven chuckled as he followed along. "Thief."

"Pardon?" Watts replied, puzzled.

"You stole a kiss," Steven explained. He was smiling, though, to show he was joking.

"I stole a- oh. Oh," Watts said, as he understood. "Well. I could not help myself, you're irresistible," he said as he put the leftovers in the fridge. He went to put the empty containers in the trash and then froze before he actually did so, turning instead to place them with the items to be recycled before turning back to Steven with a questioning look.

Steven paused where he was putting the glasses in the dishwashing cupboard so he could look. "Those can be recycled, yes."

Llewellyn got a kiss on the cheek for his trouble too.

"Oh, good, excellent," Watts said, clearly relieved that he'd remembered correctly. And pleased with the kiss to his cheek, yes.

"Well done, you," Steven said. Then he looked worried. "Your dessert! We've not had it yet."

"Do you mind if we- after?" Watts said. "We could cut a couple slices now, bring them up with us, if you're- if you don't think we'd come back downstairs."

"I don't mind after," Steven assured him. "I only wanted to be sure you didn't think your hard work was going unappreciated."

"You've never made me feel that way," Watts assured him. "I promise. Especially when it's- my idea. To do something else first."

"All right." Steven stepped closer so he could give Llewellyn a kiss. "I'm ready to go upstairs if you are then."

"Oh, undoubtedly," Watts declared into said kiss, already maneuvering the two of them towards the stairs.

Steven held on to Llewellyn's hand tightly as they went.

"Really should put in a lift," he mumbled in between kisses.

"It'd be faster," Watts agreed, only pausing in the kissing because doing so while going up the stairs was a recipe for disaster. "And I would not have to stop kissing you."

"Easier to bring food up and down as well," Steven pointed out, since the kissing had paused long enough for something like conversation.

Which was the other surefire way to win Watts's support, really: food.

"I'm sold. Let's do it. Not right now," he hastened to add as they reached their bedroom doorway.

"We're good right now," Steven agreed, looking up towards the ceiling. Midnight could mean well but get overeager to help if they weren't careful. And if cake wasn't a good reason to interrupt what he and Llewellyn were about to do, home renovations certainly weren't.

"About to be better," Watts said, with a playful nip to Steven's bottom lip as he leaned in to kiss him again.

Steven gave a happy squeak before he kissed Llewellyn back. He tugged them further into the room so they could get close to the bed.

Watts's legs bumped up against the edge of the bed and he almost pulled Steven down on to it with him before deciding to change tactics. "Clothes," he breathed. "Off first."
