Watts couldn't pinpoint when, exactly, Steven came to bed during the night- only that he woke up in the morning clinging to Steven like a human octopus.

After waking there had been the promised breakfast in bed- French toast with syrup and fruit, of course. What followed that was- well, it may have been Steven's birthday but he had something of a gift for Watts of the variety that would normally go behind a cut tag or in the comments because NSFW.

Next up had been the part that Watts was the most apprehensive about- he'd put together a little concert of sorts of a few piano pieces he felt he'd especially mastered. But Steven had enjoyed it, so it was a success.

Late afternoon rolled around and Watts excused himself to go prepare dinner- he'd done as much of the prep work as possible yesterday but despite it not being quite as elaborate as last year's, it still did require some work day of.

Eventually, though, dinner was laid out in the dining room: A soup and salad, along with the main course (which Watts had cooked indoors, with Midnight's help, thank you). There was a cake as well, that would be brought out later. For now, there was music playing softly in the background, and all Watts needed was the birthday boy himself.

Steven moved to pull Llewellyn into a hug, in case that helped.

"I love you," Watts said into Steven's shoulder. "So much I ache with it. I love being part of your family."

"I love that with you I have one," Steven replied. He held Llewellyn nice and tight.

"Now and always, darling," Watts assured him.

"Mine all mine," Steven murmured.

"Gladly, foolishly so," Watts replied.

"And I'm yours," Steven said. "Wholeheartedly."

"There is no greater gift I could ask for," Watts said softly, pulling out of the hug just enough to offer a kiss.

"Good," Steven said, among the kisses. "I rather like giving you things."

"Mmm, you're exceptional at that, too," Watts informed him.

"Not just kisses?" Steven asked. Though he did like knowing Llewellyn enjoyed his kisses.

[pocketpretzels]

"Not just kisses," Watts echoed. "Though I've absolutely no complaints about those, barring perhaps that they could happen with more frequency." A beat. "Not that I feel I'm lacking, I assure you."

Steven snickered. "I know what you mean. There's always room for more kisses."

"Good," Watts said. "I am relieved that you understood- what it was I meant."

[hasaknightjob]

"Rare is the occasion I'd complain about getting a kiss from you," Steven said. "Have to be when my mouth's full because I'm trying to drink some water or something. Even then you could kiss me on the cheek."

"Or any number of other places," Watts declared with a waggle of his eyebrows before he ate another bite of cake.

"Llewellyn!" Steven said, as though scandalized. Though he was laughing as well which showed he wasn't actually upset.

"You're very kissable," Watts informed him. "That is hardly my fault."

[hasaknightjob]

"Suppose that's fair," Steven said, still chuckling. "Much like it's hardly my fault you're so charming and handsome."

"So you see," Watts said, darting in to kiss the corner of Steven's mouth, where a bit of icing lingered. "Works out nicely."

"Sweetly?" Steven suggested.

[pocketpretzels]

"Oh, very much so," Watts said fervently.

[hasaknightjob]

"Passionately?" Steven suggested. He got a bit of icing on the tip of his index finger and held it out for Llewellyn.

[pocketpretzels]

"Undoubtedly," Watts said, taking the tip of Steven's finger into his mouth and swirling his tongue around it to get that icing.

[hasaknightjob]

Steven shivered, even though he was by no means cold. As soon as Llewellyn looked like he was done, Steven leaned in for another kiss.
