Watts couldn't pinpoint when, exactly, Steven came to bed during the night- only that he woke up in the morning clinging to Steven like a human octopus.

After waking there had been the promised breakfast in bed- French toast with syrup and fruit, of course. What followed that was- well, it may have been Steven's birthday but he had something of a gift for Watts of the variety that would normally go behind a cut tag or in the comments because NSFW.

Next up had been the part that Watts was the most apprehensive about- he'd put together a little concert of sorts of a few piano pieces he felt he'd especially mastered. But Steven had enjoyed it, so it was a success.

Late afternoon rolled around and Watts excused himself to go prepare dinner- he'd done as much of the prep work as possible yesterday but despite it not being quite as elaborate as last year's, it still did require some work day of.

Eventually, though, dinner was laid out in the dining room: A soup and salad, along with the main course (which Watts had cooked indoors, with Midnight's help, thank you). There was a cake as well, that would be brought out later. For now, there was music playing softly in the background, and all Watts needed was the birthday boy himself.

Steven giggled, because it was a cute invitation.

"Cake away first? So someone doesn't get his paws on it?"

"Mmm, good thinking," Watts agreed, with a kiss to Steven's cheek just because.

"Have to keep our little one safe," Steven said. "Do you want me to help?"

"If you'd like?" Watts said. "It's your birthday, you can relax if you'd prefer."

"I don't mind," Steven said. "Means I get to spend more time with you."

All of the few minutes it took to put dishes and leftovers where they needed to go, but still.

"But I didn't know if you wanted me to let you take care of everything."

"That was my plan, but I can be flexible," Watts told him. "If you want to help I would welcome it, but please do not feel obligated. You can just relax if you'd like."

"If I didn't help I could go upstairs and start to get undressed?" Steven said. Not pushing for that as the answer, merely offering it as an option if it appealed to Llewellyn.

It was an option that hadn't actually occurred to Watts!

"...Oh," he said. "Oh. Yes. I like that idea. Very much."

"Let's do that then," Steven said. "Since it appeals."

"All right," Watts agreed. "I shall see you in a few minutes then, darling," he said, pulling Steven in for one more kiss before he started clearing away their dessert dishes.

Steven watched Llewellyn fondly for a moment before heading upstairs to start undressing. He didn't do so in any particular hurry since he did want to make sure not to damage his suit.

It really didn't take long at all to load the dishes into the dish-washing cupboard, and put the leftover cake in the refrigerator. Yes, he could've done a more thorough clean-up job but he'd have plenty of time for that tomorrow.

So a few minutes later, Watts was standing in the doorway to the bedroom. "Hello, you."

Llewellyn had arrived just as Steven had finished taking off the last of his clothing. He smiled shyly. "Hello, you."

"You've... one more present to, ah. Unwrap." Watts informed him with a significant look.

Briefly confused, Steven looked down at himself then back up again. "But I'm done?"

"I- meant myself," Watts clarified. "Though I suppose there are still- things we could do. With myself fully dressed. If you would prefer."

"Oh right!" Steven blushed as he realized. "I'd like to unwrap you, please."

"As you please," Watts said, stepping in nice and close.

[hasaknightjob]

"You often do," Steven said, smiling up at him. He tugged on Llewellyn's tie. "Please."

"Very much my goal for tonight," Watts informed him. You know, in case he needed the reminder.

Steven tugged on the tie again, this time to try to loosen it. "You're my present I get to unwrap?"

"All yours, my darling," Watts confirmed.

Steven undid Llewellyn's tie, then moved to start unbuttoning his waistcoat.

"Do you want- should I help?" Watts asked, a little uncertain.

[hasaknightjob]

"I wouldn't mind," Steven said. "Get the job done faster. You look smart but I'd like us to be even now."
