BWI Airport & Then a Plane Enroute to YYZ, Sunday Afternoon

Part of the preparations for their trip had involved Watts being briefed on what was and was not allowed to be carried on to an airplane. As absurd as Watts found most of the rules, he did obviously abide by them, meaning their trip through the security line was uneventful, if somewhat tedious. Also, hey, the first real test of Watts's modern identity papers!

So, security, and then waiting at the gate- where Watts's attention had first been drawn by the wine bar but apparently there would not be enough time to sit and properly enjoy a glass before they had to board. What was possible, however, was a stop at some place called 'Auntie Anne's' which sold hot pretzels.

"Would you care for one?" Watts asked Steven as he tugged him towards the counter.

"Right, we can ask," Steven said. He pointed. "That button will tell the attendant we need them."

Watts obligingly pressed the button, and in short order both he and Steven had been supplied with headphones.

Once had them plugged in, Watts spent a few minutes scrolling through the available options, vetoing most of the available films as their journey was too short to actually watch one from start to finish.

He did, however, find a screen with details of their flight path.

“Look at that!” he exclaimed, tugging the headphones from his ears as it turned out they weren’t actually necessary for this particular feature. “That’s us!”

Steven hadn't needed to watch anything. But knowing Llewellyn might feel too aware of Steven not listening to anything, he'd used his to listen to one of the music channels. As such, he had no problem taking them off to smile at Llewellyn. "It is. Would you like me to put that on my monitor so you can watch something else as well?"

“That’s quite all right,” Watts said. “I don’t believe there’s enough time to watch a picture before we arrive.”

"Not really," Steven agreed. "Though sometimes there's programs. Sitcoms and the like. You could watch one of those if you cared to?"

“Sitcoms?” Watts echoed. “Those are the- serialized programs?”

Television was one of those things that he still hadn’t explored much beyond watching movies with Steven.

"Situation comedies," Steven said, nodding to show Llewellyn had the right of it and Steven was simply expanding on the knowledge. "We could give them a go sometime if you like? Just to see?"

“We could do that,” Watts agreed. “Not right now.”

"You could listen to music?" Steven said. "Watch the view? Have a chat with me?"

“I like that last option,” Watts said, smiling fondly at Steven.

"Which one - " Steven started to ask, then he saw Llewellyn's look. "Oh. Me?"

“You,” Watts affirmed.

Steven smiled back at him. "Don't mind talking with you. One of my favorite people to talk to, actually."

“That works out nicely then,” Watts declared. “As for a topic of conversation- you mentioned wanting to visit a museum. I’ve two that I believe will be of particular interest to you, as it happens.”

"Because you're brilliant and wonderful," Steven said. "But go ahead, tell me all about them."

“Well, there’s the Royal Ontario museum,” Watts told him. “Which includes history, art, and paleontological exhibits. And then- there is the Canadian Language Museum, dedicated to, as you might surmise, the languages of the nation.”

"I do like art and history," Steven said. "But I've not been to a language museum before. Does it say what it's like?"

“There are exhibits based on the official languages, those of the Native peoples,” Watts said. “And a number of other languages brought to the country via immigration. It looks like there is also artwork to accompany some of the exhibits, as language and culture are of course, intertwined.”

"That does sound interesting," Steven said. "Do we only have time for the one museum? Can't do both?"

“Oh, I definitely think we would have the time to visit both,” Watts assured him.

Steven immediately looked relieved. "Oh! Then yes, please. I'd like that a great deal. I thought we might have to pick one or the other."

"Not at all," Watts assured him. He leaned over to offer Steven a very quick kiss, since he had mentioned it earlier as a goal he'd like to accomplish.

Llewellyn got a bright smile back for his bravery. Steven whispered, by way of thanks, "I love you too."

"New experiences," Watts murmured back. "For both of us."

Steven leaned in closer to whisper. "I've never kissed anyone on a plane before. New all around for me as well."
