BWI Airport & Then a Plane Enroute to YYZ, Sunday Afternoon

Part of the preparations for their trip had involved Watts being briefed on what was and was not allowed to be carried on to an airplane. As absurd as Watts found most of the rules, he did obviously abide by them, meaning their trip through the security line was uneventful, if somewhat tedious. Also, hey, the first real test of Watts's modern identity papers!

So, security, and then waiting at the gate- where Watts's attention had first been drawn by the wine bar but apparently there would not be enough time to sit and properly enjoy a glass before they had to board. What was possible, however, was a stop at some place called 'Auntie Anne's' which sold hot pretzels.

"Would you care for one?" Watts asked Steven as he tugged him towards the counter.

"I don't know, I think we've got a few other things on the agenda," Watts said. "Between the kissing."

"Between the kissing? Well that's exciting," Steven said. He knew Llewellyn meant things like they'd spoken about, but he was having fun acting as though the kissing changed matters. "Like a show?"

"Mmm, like a show," Watts agreed. "Or a carriage ride through High Park."

Steven leaned against Llewellyn. "Those both sound wonderful. Do I get to do them with you?"

"Of course," Watts said. "I need to keep you nearby. For the kissing."

[hasaknightjob]

"Excellent," Steven said. He went to hook their arms together if Llewellyn would allow it. "I'm all for sticking close. To you, specifically. Very much to you."

Watts did allow it, leaning in close to Steven. "Just as I prefer it."

"Wonderful," Steven said. "I'm looking forward to it. You? Excited to see all the changes?"

"With perhaps a tinge of apprehension," Watts admitted.

Steven gave Llewellyn's arm a squeeze. "It's understandable. Safe to say it's going to be rather different. Could be good shocks and bad."

"Indeed."

He very specifically wasn't going to go looking for places that held meaning for him, like the Marks's building or the Station House.

"If it's ever too much," Steven said, "if you need a break or to leave early or anything like it, you can tell me. Or Marc. We don't want you hurting. You know that, right?"

That got a gentle smile out of Watts. "I know."

Would he take Steven up on that? Hard to say.

That was all right. Steven knew to keep an eye on Llewellyn for signs of distress he wasn't talking about. And Marc... was not good at picking up on those cues but he did have Steven in the back of his head as needed.

"You're what matters most," Steven reminded Llewellyn. "Not the city."

"We're headed there for a reason beyond just sightseeing," Watts reminded Steven.

"I know," Steven said. "But you're still more important. Marc would agree with me."

"It means a great deal that you both think so."

[hasaknightjob]

"You're family," Steven told him. "Means you're very valuable to us both."

Watts nodded, because while he knew Steven meant every word, it was still something he was working to wrap his head around.

Steven gave Llewellyn's arm a squeeze again. "And we're doing all the things you'd like to do? Not missing anything from your list in our plans?"

“Nothing springs to mind,” Watts said. “What about you?” Because yes, he still worried about Steven having enough input on their plans.

Whereas from Steven's point of view, "We're already doing so many things I'd like. Feeling a bit greedy, actually."

“Really?” Watts asked, mildly surprised.

[hasaknightjob]

"I mean museums, a nice date with you, all things I like," Steven said. "Feels unfairly weighted, you ask me."

[pocketpretzels]

“But- I like all of those things as well?” Watts pointed out. In fact, except for the museums, they’d all been his idea.

Well. The carriage ride was partially Marc’s.
