After getting checked in to the hotel and settled in the room with its view of the Tagus river, Watts and Steven were ready to start their adventure with a visit to the Oceanário de Lisboa. Following that, Watts had deliberately left the itinerary open. Perhaps they'd explore the city and head for dinner and a performance of fado music... orrrrr they might just head back to the hotel and order room service. Who knew!

"You're what I most want to be selfish about," Steven told him. "Suppose that works out, at least. Us having this. And you sharing it with me. Portugal, I mean."

"Not exactly how I pictured going, originally," Watts admitted. "But I suppose that just means everything's had a hundred years or so to get more impressively historical. And," he beamed, "I'm here with someone who wants to be here as well." He was well aware Steven had not been possessed of any particular desire to visit the country before he'd suggested it, but he'd said yes and expressed genuine enthusiasm at the idea.

"You could've wanted to go on your own," Steven pointed out. "Half the fuss, planning for one person, isn't it? And it mattered to you. Sometimes sharing what matters doesn't work out. Took a risk there, letting me in on it."

"That I do know. My desire was always to go with- someone I cared about," he admitted, briefly tightening his grip on Steven's hand. "I've travelled plenty on my own. This was an experience I wanted to share." Only the first person he'd suggested it to had essentially laughed it off.

Steven squeezed back. "Lucky me, being someone you care about. I like seeing you be excited about things. And here we are not having done the wine yet."

Steven was very much looking forward to listening to Llewellyn go on about wine.

Much like Watts was eagerly anticipating tomorrow's museum tour for the Egyptian exhibit. Not because of his interest, but because he wanted to hear Steven tell him everything about it.

"It's possible I made sure I had room in my suitcase to bring several bottles back," Watts said shamelessly.

"Have to have souvenirs, don't you?" Steven said, since this sounded perfectly reasonable to him. He'd left space in his luggage to bring things back as well. "Had a thought. Don't take this to mean I think you need to, only wondering if you want to. But did you want to look at clothes as well?"

"I hadn't- considered it," Watts said slowly. "But we've only a couple days in each city. That's hardly enough time to have anything fit properly," he pointed out, unless Steven was referring to the sort of casual lounging-about clothes like the ones he'd purchased for Steven to wear when staying over?

"Was thinking jumpers and the like," Steven said. He moved to stand in front of Llewellyn so they could be eye to eye. "Only if you cared to. I like you and your clothes. You're handsome as you are."

"I don't know that they'd suit me," Watts said, shaking his head a bit at the unintentional pun.

It was Steven so he smiled at the pun, intentional or otherwise. "All right. Only an idea. Nothing I think needs doing."

"If you say," Watts said, though now he was sneaking glances at how other men around them were dressed and, much like in Fandom, very few of them were wearing suits.

"Don't lie to each other, do we?" Steven pointed out. He reached up with both hands to smooth Llewellyn's lapels, even if they didn't need it. "I've always liked you and your clothes."

Watts visibly relaxed at Steven's touch. "I don't know," he teased. "I remember you getting visibly frustrated with one shirt in particular."

That he felt comfortable enough to joke about that experience considering the day after also said a lot.

"Only proves how handsome you are in it," Steven pointed out, grinning at him.

"And here I had the distinct impression you preferred me out of it," Watts said, sotto voce.

Steven leaned closer so he could join Llewellyn in speaking more softly. "Didn't say you weren't handsome that way as well."

"Suppose it's good we've made time for both then, hmm?" Watts asked

"In ink," Steven agreed. And if they were that close anyway he was going to sneak a quick kiss, fast enough that it might've looked like they only bumped into one another.

"Best be careful, though," Watts murmured as he pulled away. "Seems there's gossips about," he said, nodding towards a nearby informational plaque.

Look what you've done, Steven. Your boyfriend was turning into a regular comedian.

Steven took Llewellyn's hand again, giving it a squeeze to show his approval of the joke.

Fortunately the wording on the plague was big enough he didn't need his glasses. "Venomous as well? Hopefully it's not the same for the ones we have at home."

Which to be honest couldn't be ruled out, given the strangeness of Fandom's wildlife.

"I believe the gremlins are the only venomous creatures we need worry about back home," Watts agreed, and now he was doing that, referring to Fandom as 'home'.

"Says they come out at night," Steven said, pointing out that part of the description. "Means they're under my protection. Unless they're hurting other innocent fish. Might be a problem then."

Somewhere Konshu was lamenting yet again that he'd ever been forced to meet Steven.

Yeah, well. Suck it up, Konshu.

"It does say they're hunters," Watts pointed out rather apologetically.

"Maybe they hunt fish being a problem," Steven said. He was fully making things up now for the fun of it, and gave Llewellyn a smile to help make that clear. "Protecting the others that can't protect themselves."
