Lisbon, Portugal, [All Day Sunday]

After getting checked in to the hotel and settled in the room with its view of the Tagus river, Watts and Steven were ready to start their adventure with a visit to the Oceanário de Lisboa. Following that, Watts had deliberately left the itinerary open. Perhaps they'd explore the city and head for dinner and a performance of fado music... orrrrr they might just head back to the hotel and order room service. Who knew!

"I am getting spoiled at this rate," Steven said. Not that he was complaining.

"You deserve spoiling," Watts asserted.

Steven could only respond to that with a pleased blush and duck of his head. Very pleased, however. It wasn't often he received such compliments.

"And I am going to do my best to make sure that happens," Watts told him. "In all sorts of ways."

"Me as well," Steven said. "For you. As much as I can. You're worth it."

Well now it was Watts's turn to blush furiously at the compliment.

Steven smiled up at him. "I do care for you, Llew. A great deal."

"Well, you did come on this little adventure with me," Watts said. "That means more to me than I can say."

"You shared it with me," Steven said. "That's not nothing."

“And I am ever so glad I did,” Watts said.

Steven indicated their held hands. "Do you think our otter friends are looking at us the same as we're looking at them?"

"Wondering why we're not going for a swim like sensible people?"

Steven laughed, delighted by Llewellyn making a joke as much as the joke itself. "I meant holding hands but I suppose that as well. Maybe when we're at the hotel."

Or there was a large bathtub available.

"I would like to go for a swim with you," Watts mused. He glanced back at the otters as an idea occurred to him.

"Do you think- I've seen- in Miss Gingrich's shop, she has toys that are like teddy bears but not actual bears. Do you think the gift shop here would have something like that? But of an otter?"

"They might," Steven said. "We had things at the museum - er, last museum I worked at, not this one. But stuffed Tawerets and the like. They might have otters here. Why, what are you thinking?"

"For Miss Sherman," he said. "You said you were thinking of getting her something as a thank-you for taking care of your fish."

"Oh!" Steven said as he understood. "Might work. I was thinking of getting something for her daughter anyway. Like she said she didn't need anything but she might not mind a gift for the little one, yeah? Bet a stuffed otter would do a treat."

"That's along the lines of what I was thinking, more or less," Watts confessed. "I know the bears at least are popular as gifts for children back home, they must still be if they're making them for all manner of creatures..." including the entirely imaginary kind he'd seen in Steph's shop.

Steven gave Llewellyn's hand a squeeze. "They are. I bet we'll find one. Probably loads, but I like the otter. It can hold hands with Liz's child."

"Downright adorable," Watts declared. "I'm glad you like the idea."

"I'll be sure to tell her it's from both of us," Steven said.

"You'd do that?" Liz was, after all, Steven's friend, while he and Liz had never really spoken outside of the couple times she'd come in to the Trooper Station visibly distressed.
