Midnight Manor Private Residence, Sunday Late Morning

Passover was next week, and thus Watts and Steven were hard at work cleaning the house in preparation.

Okay, no, despite making lists of what needed to be done and a few cursory attempts they hadn't really knuckled down with the cleaning as of yet.

What was happening was Watts downstairs in the kitchen, having left behind a dozing Steven so he could prepare French toast to bring back upstairs for breakfast in bed. What? It was a perfectly reasonable way to get rid of bread!

Once everything was ready, he piled the slices on two plates along with a selection of fruit, honey, and maple syrup, along with some whipped topping. And of course, couldn't forget the beverages- he'd gone the extra mile, so to speak, and so there was both orange juice and tea.

Midnight helpfully swung the closed bedroom door open so that Watts didn't need to deal with how to manage that with a tray full of food in both hands, and Watts stepped inside and announced softly, in case Steven was still asleep: "Breakfast's ready."

Steven was dozing after having moved over enough to curl up in the warmth Llewellyn left behind when he'd gotten out of bed.

He wasn't so deeply asleep that Llewellyn's words didn't filter through to him, so there was a, "Hmm?"

"French toast, as requested," Watts said, setting the tray down on the table next to Steven's side of the bed.

Steven blinked awake. He took a moment to register what he was looking at. "You made breakfast?"

"I did," Watts said, leaning down to offer a soft kiss. "Hello, you."

Steven was still a little muzzy from sleep but not so much that he couldn't kiss back.

"Hello, you. I would have helped?"

"Hmmm. Not proper breakfast in bed that way," Watts replied.

Steven was now looking at him with heart eyes. "You did all this for me?"

"I love you," was Watts's answer.

Steven reached up to pull Llewellyn into another kiss, this time to show him just how much he appreciated his breakfast.

"Not to mention, as thank yous go, this is spectacular," Watts noted.

"I'll thank you even more when it won't risk all this wonderful food getting cold," Steven told him.

"I look forward to it," Watts said with a smile as he left to cross over to his side of the bed and crawl back in next to Steven.

Steven sat up, scooting over to his side again to make room. "You've laid out such a spread for us. Thank you, love. I can tell you worked hard."

"As always, it is work I enjoy when it brings a smile to your face," Watts told him.

Steven obligingly showed him his smile, which was from ear to ear. "I love you dearly. My dear. Thank you."

"You are most welcome," Watts said, gesturing for Steven to go ahead and prepare his toast first.

Steven did so, piling on fruit and syrup and whipped topping. "It smells amazing."

"Mmm, I had to resist sampling too much before coming back upstairs," Watts admitted, doing likewise once it looked like Steven had his toast to his liking. Yes, he could've done that before bringing everything up, but sometimes it was nice to prepare something exactly to one's liking, and who knew if Steven was feeling like more strawberries versus blueberries or whatever, you know?

Steven did seem to be in a blueberry mood, given how many he'd added to his plate. Once everything was set up, he cut himself a big forkful, trying to get as much onto it as he could, and took a bite.

He then sighed happily, enjoying the taste and entirely oblivious to how there was whipped topping on the corner of his mouth.

Watts wasn't oblivious, hence the leaning over to press a kiss to said corner of Steven's mouth, tongue briefly darting out to take care of that whipped topping.

Steven had to show his gratitude of course, so he turned to kiss Llewellyn properly.

"You taste sweet," Watts noted.

[hasaknightjob]

"You are sweet," Steven replied.

"You do inspire it in me," Watts said, looking pleased by the compliment.

For that, Steven offered him one of his blueberries. "You woke up early for me and everything."
