After they'd found their seats- nothing extravagant, though also not high up in the nosebleeds, but something reasonable in the lower bowl- Watts had almost immediately sprung back up to head to the concessions, coming back several minutes later with popcorn, nachos, a pretzel, a beer, a glass cup of wine, and two hot dogs (all beef, he'd checked). How was he managing to carry all that? Good question, don't worry about it.

"I wasn't certain what sort of fixings you'd care for," Watts said, as he handed the beer and one of the hot dogs to Marc. "So I brought some of everything." From a pocket, he produced ketchup and mustard packets, as well as several condiment cups with things like onions, hot peppers, and whatever else one might put on a hot dog.

Had Marc requested any of that? Possibly not, but he was getting it anyway.

Marc motioned for the popcorn. "Can I?"

This was how much he liked you, Marc, because Watts held the popcorn bag out towards him with no comment.

"Thanks," Marc said as he took a handful. Which was a sign of him liking Watts. He'd repeatedly said thank you.

"Not a problem," Watts said. "There's plenty. And I can always get more." It wasn't as if he was invested enough in the game itself to worry about missing anything if he left for the concessions again.

"Or I could," Marc said. "No reason you have to get everything."

[pocketpretzels]

"This was meant to be my gift to you," Watts pointed out. "Seems unfair for you to have to pay for things."

"I could help you carry," Marc amended. "You could get more food that way anyway."

[pocketpretzels]

Marc made a good point. "You might miss part of the game," Watts pointed out.

[hasaknightjob]

"So would you," Marc pointed out.

[pocketpretzels]

"My team is not playing," Watts replied.

[hasaknightjob]

"You're not rooting for the same team I am?" Marc asked. There was something like a grin there to show he was joking.

"Well, yes, I suppose I am," Watts replied.

[hasaknightjob]

"Anyway, it's fine," Marc said. "Part of the experience, grabbing snacks and hitting the head. Sometimes you miss something but whatever."

"I see," Watts nodded. "Well. So long as you're amenable, then."

[hasaknightjob]

"Unless you're looking to get away from me?" Marc asked, not ruling out that anyone might need a break from him, Watts included.

"Whyever would I need to do that?" Watts asked, genuinely puzzled.

[hasaknightjob]

"Sick of my company?" Marc suggested.

[pocketpretzels]

"I'm generally the one found tiresome," Watts pointed out. "Perhaps that's why you offered to visit the concessions. To get away from me." Meant as a joke. Mostly.

"You're fine," Marc told him. "I'm just trying not to be an asshole who makes you do all the work."

[pocketpretzels]

"I've never found you to be so," Watts pointed out. "Don't see why that would start now."

[hasaknightjob]

"You're a special case," Marc said. As a compliment, to be clear. "Not many people can manage it and know something like the real me."

[pocketpretzels]

"Be awkward all around if I could not," Watts noted. "So that works out well."

[hasaknightjob]

"Works out for you and Steven," Marc said, like that was the only part that mattered. "So that's good."

[pocketpretzels]

"Marc Spector, you are important to me on your own merits and I'll not have you forget that," Watts said solemnly.

[hasaknightjob]

"Right," Marc said. Not dismissing it but not making a fuss about it either. "Just saying you guys come first is all."
