After they'd found their seats- nothing extravagant, though also not high up in the nosebleeds, but something reasonable in the lower bowl- Watts had almost immediately sprung back up to head to the concessions, coming back several minutes later with popcorn, nachos, a pretzel, a beer, a glass cup of wine, and two hot dogs (all beef, he'd checked). How was he managing to carry all that? Good question, don't worry about it.

"I wasn't certain what sort of fixings you'd care for," Watts said, as he handed the beer and one of the hot dogs to Marc. "So I brought some of everything." From a pocket, he produced ketchup and mustard packets, as well as several condiment cups with things like onions, hot peppers, and whatever else one might put on a hot dog.

Had Marc requested any of that? Possibly not, but he was getting it anyway.

Watts nodded. "I had that same thought," he admitted.

"You know him pretty well," Marc said. "Better than me sometimes."

Watts didn't doubt the first part of that sentence, but the second part did surprise him a little. "Really?"

"He confides in you more," Marc said. He took another drink of his beer. "I know he keeps stuff from me. When he's upset. Shit like that."

"He thinks you take too much onto your shoulders," Watts said.

"It's my freaking job," Marc said. "Not for him to worry about."

Watts snorted. "Good luck with that."

Marc had to acknowledge Watts had a point there. "I can try anyway. He shouldn't worry."

"I do try to remind him not to worry too much," Watts assured him.

[hasaknightjob]

"Appreciate that," Marc said. "At least he's got somebody if he's not gonna lean on me."

"He'll never not lean on you, to some degree," Watts pointed out. "It's in your nature." Plural 'your' there.

"He still tries to keep me out of stuff," Marc said, as though he didn't do the same thing in reverse to Steven. "It's good he's got you at least."

"And I him," Watts said, with great fondness.

[hasaknightjob]

"I'm not - " Marc briefly debated if he should continue, not sure if this was one of those times he shouldn't poke his nose in. Then he figured fuck it. "I'm not standing in the way if you two wanna tie the knot. You've got my blessing. Not sure anybody sane would want it but there ya go."

"Tie the- oh. Oh. Well. Thank you," Watts said solemnly. "Though- I'm not the one that needs convincing, in that respect."

Marc sighed. Not at Watts.

"He's being Steven about it," Marc said. He made something like an apologetic gesture. "That's all I can tell you. Up to him to say what it's about."

"He wants to ensure no doors are closed to you," Watts said. "I can understand that."

"That's not a thing we need to worry about," Marc said. He raised a hand to forestall a potential counterargument. "Even if I find somebody I wanna be with like that, which we're not even getting into."

"Were we not just discussing his tendency to worry?" Watts pointed out.

[hasaknightjob]

"Didn't say he wasn't gonna worry about it," Marc pointed out, but with a quirk to his mouth that let Watts know he was kind of joking. "But you don't. It's not a thing. He's creating shit to freak out about."

"Borrowing trouble," Watts said with a nod. "So it wouldn't interfere with- what you have going on with Dr. Quinn," he checked. Just to be clear.

Marc looked at Watts like he'd starting speaking another language. One Marc didn't know.

"The fuck?"

[pocketpretzels]

"Not, I wasn't implying that the two of you would- " Watts waved a hand. "Just that Steven and I, if we were, that wouldn't- throw a wrench in things. So to speak."

[hasaknightjob]

"Long as it's clear Harley and me - it ain't that kind of party," Marc said. Then, just so Watts wouldn't worry, "And even if it was it wouldn't be a problem. We'd figure it out. I'd do a better job than I did with Layla. You and Steven wouldn't get the short end of the stick, I promise."

"I'm not worried about that," Watts assured him. He was worried about how they'd 'make it work' when Harley didn't even like him. "But thank you."
