Midnight Manor Private Residence, Saturday Afternoon

Saturday's routine had started off like normal, heading off to the mainland to attend services. Once they were back on the island, however, Watts was off to the clinic for the first in what he'd found out would be a series of vaccinations over the next several weeks.

Hence his current state, sore and generally unwell-feeling, bundled up on the couch in the library.

Steven, of course, was going to fuss. In this case fussing involved making tea and serving it up with some biscuits. The biscuits had been made by Llewellyn but even so, they were appropriate to have with tea.

Once all was ready, Steven brought them into the library and set the tray on the coffee table in front of the couch. "Here we are. Plenty more where that came from if you need."

That got a somewhat wan smile in thanks. "Oh," Watts sighed. "I was going to make rolls today."

Right now the whole concept seemed like far too much work.

"Perhaps tomorrow if you're up for it," Steven suggested. "Is there anything else you need right now?"

"You?" Watts said, making grabby hands in Steven's general direction.

"Luckily I have me in stock," Steven replied. He smiled as he sat down beside Llewellyn, ready to cuddle or be cuddled as Llewellyn might prefer.

And Watts all but melted into his side. "Good, glad to hear it. Otherwise I might have had to raise complaints."

Steven wrapped his arms around Llewellyn, encouraging him to lean against Steven as much as he wanted. "Now you can use your energy for resting. Much better way to spend your time."

"I still say it's counterintuitive," Watts grumbled into Steven's side. "That something meant to ensure you stay healthy results in you feeling poorly."

Steven held him close. "It's less poorly than if you became fully ill? Though it is frustrating to be certain."

"I had plans," sorry, Steven, your beau was kind of cranky when he didn't feel well. Though at least he wasn't directing said crankiness at Steven. "And now all I can bear to do is- sit here. Like a lump."

"I'm sorry, love," Steven said. He rubbed Llewellyn's back comfortingly. "I know it's disappointing. Thank you for doing this anyway."

"And you're putting up with me being a misery about it all," Watts said.

[hasaknightjob]

"I love you," Steven replied, matter of factly. "It's my pleasure to take care of you when you need."

[pocketpretzels]

"Still doesn't mean I have to like making you do so," Watts said.

Even if a little part of him actually did enjoy being fussed over. But he'd never admit that.

"You don't," Steven agreed. "But that doesn't change that I like when I do. I don't like that you need it, but I'm glad I can help all the same."

"You are very sweet," Watts said with a sigh, dramatically flopping over so his head was in Steven's lap.

Steven smiled down at him fondly. He slipped a hand into Llewellyn's hair to start massaging. "Shall we get Raphael in here as well? He could curl up on you and purr."

Watts gave a happy little sigh as Steven's hands found their way into his hair. "Sounds nice," Watts admitted. "Though I might be in danger of falling asleep on you then."

"Can if you like," Steven said. He looked at the side table to confirm a pair of his glasses and the last book he was reading was still there. "I can keep myself occupied if you do."

"We'll see," Watts said. He wasn't going to try and fall asleep on purpose, but Steven's words made him feel a little better about the possibility of doing so accidentally.

"Long as you're not worried about it," Steven said. He continued to gently massage Llewellyn's head. "We can also talk if you like. I enjoy speaking with you."

"I do like speaking with you as well," Watts said fondly. "So that does work nicely."

Steven moved his hand back to massage near the base of Llewellyn's neck. "Anything you'd care to talk about? I suppose the unfairness of side effects is always a topic."

"Mmm," Watts said. "I feel like I may have exhausted that topic," he pointed out. "How about- our upcoming cabin stay. We should settle on a date." A beat. "Also possibly a location."

"In a cabin," Steven said, grinning down at him to show he was joking.
