Oh, the weather outside was... sticky, actually, as Watts discovered when he briefly poked his head out the front door to investigate if that were actual snow on the ground.
Indoors, things were- well, the hope was they would be found delightful by a particular other resident of the house. Yesterday, at the tail end of his usual time in the kitchen spent baking, he'd requested that Steven make himself scarce, explaining that he needed to prepare some things necessary for a surprise tomorrow.
Well, now it was tomorrow, and so he'd slipped out of bed (leaving a note for Steven that he was in the kitchen and would surely return momentarily, please do not get out of bed), turned the electric fireplace on, fed Raphael, and then gotten to work finishing the last of his preparations. Eventually, he had what he needed: Two cups of tea, Steven's of course prepared to his liking, and bagels piled high with what the google had assured him were all the correct toppings.
All of that balanced carefully on a tray, he made his way back upstairs, poking his head into the bedroom to see if Steven was awake yet.
