MHA #14, Saturday Evening
Dec. 24th, 2022 12:51 pmSomehow Watts had actually managed to get both the presents and the cat to the apartment across the hall with minimal fuss. Possibly because Raphael knew the drill by now, and was just as enthusiastic about who they were visiting as Watts was.
Of course, the second he'd set Raphael down to greet Steven properly he had started winding his way around Steven's ankles, and in fact had not strayed more than two feet apart from him since. Even whilst the Menorah was lit, though that at least had Raphael stop and stare at the flickering candle flames in fascination.
Now, though? Presents. There were three boxes wrapped in tissue paper laid out on the coffee table: two that were roughly book shaped, and one that was long and thin.
"I got one for you to open on Raphael's behalf as well," Watts admitted, reaching over to skritch Raphael's ears where he was currently curled up contentedly on Steven's lap. "Didn't want him to feel left out."
