Throughout the Preserve, Friday early Afternoon

The weather today was pleasant, perfect walk-in-the-woods weather, and so as soon as they'd returned from services (and lunch) on the mainland, Watts had suggested that's exactly what he and Steven do. So the two of them had set out to walk to the woods in order to walk in the woods.

Although intellectually he realised it hardly mattered, it still wasn't until they'd passed inside the tree line that Watts reached for Steven's arm with a smile.

"This was a wonderful idea," he said. A good amount of the usual tension he carried with him had melted away on the walk over and so his gait was loose-limbed and easy.

Steven heard the sound and responded by holding Llewellyn tighter. He moved his hands up to tangle in Llewellyn's hair (taking care not to dislodge his hat, of course) and keep him nice and close as the kiss continued.

And thus did Watts encounter a dilemma, for he very much wanted Steven to know that he was good, perfect, wonderful only he couldn’t very well utter such encouragement with his mouth occupied as it was. So he focused instead on trying to convey that message through his enthusiastic response.

There was plenty of time for that when the kissing was over. In the meanwhile there could be kissing. And if Llewellyn was trying to convey his appreciation, Steven was trying to convey how much he cared for Llewellyn. Not only in the sense of the emotion, but the desire to take care of him. If Steven could convey acceptance through a kiss, he was doing his best to attempt it.

Eventually, though, Watts had to break the kiss. Because breathing.

“Love you,” he told Steven. Breathing and also he’d needed to say that.

"I love you too," Steven said. "No matter your mood."

“Which is much improved now thanks to you, my wonderful, perfect, darling Gentleman Knight,” Watts continued.

"I'm glad I could help in some way," Steven said. He moved one hand down to caress Llewellyn's cheek. "You're not alone, Llew. Never are, with me."

“I do try to remember that,” Watts said.

"Remember, if I'm not here," Steven moved his hand down to tap Llewellyn's chest, right over his heart, "I'm here."

“That sounds awfully familiar,” Watts said with a soft smile.

"It's a line from my favorite poet," Steven replied, matching Llewellyn's smile with his own.

“Steven Grant, you are going to make me blush,” Watts replied.

Steven moved his hand to gently tug at Llewellyn's tie. "Oh no. Horrible fate, that. Seeing you blush."

“Tease.”

Please note how he was in no way telling you to stop, Steven.

"Hardly teasing if I'm being honest," Steven pointed out. Though he did say this while giving Llewellyn's tie another tug.

“About which part?” Watts wondered.

[hasaknightjob]

"I mean all of it," Steven said. He moved close enough to kiss but didn't close the distance. "Being with you always. You being my favorite poet. The lot."

“Is that so?” Watts said, fingers toying with the hem of Steven’s shirt.

[hasaknightjob]

"We don't lie to each other," Steven reminded him. "Though I suppose I'm being rude, getting in the way of our walk."

“I don’t mind.” Watts admitted. He'd been the reason they'd stopped at all, as he saw it.

[hasaknightjob]

"I don't either," Steven admitted. "But I like doing almost anything as long as it's with you. Even be stood by a tree."

"I'm afraid if we linger like this much longer I'm going to want to do far more than just stand here," Watts admitted. "Things that are... " he tugged on Steven's shirt. "Not exactly appropriate for such a public space."

Now it was Steven's turn to blush. "Oh. I see. Well... we could go home? Or keep going?"

"I should like to finish our walk," Watts said. "And then we can go home. And do all manner of things which are appropriate for that venue."

[hasaknightjob]

"Right," Steven said. He ran his hand down Llewellyn's tie to smooth it in place, then stepped back. "Shall we?"
