Throughout the Preserve, Friday early Afternoon

The weather today was pleasant, perfect walk-in-the-woods weather, and so as soon as they'd returned from services (and lunch) on the mainland, Watts had suggested that's exactly what he and Steven do. So the two of them had set out to walk to the woods in order to walk in the woods.

Although intellectually he realised it hardly mattered, it still wasn't until they'd passed inside the tree line that Watts reached for Steven's arm with a smile.

"This was a wonderful idea," he said. A good amount of the usual tension he carried with him had melted away on the walk over and so his gait was loose-limbed and easy.

"Unfortunately for him, we possess thumbs," Watts replied. "Which means if I'm feeling particularly selfish all I need to do is take you to the bedroom."

Steven gave Llewellyn a warm look even as he said, "I think if we follow that thought we may be ending our walk soon again."

"You're almost certainly right," Watts admitted.

"Not that I mind where that train of thought ends up," Steven said, just so that was clear. "But I am enjoying our walk together. Especially while the weather's good for it."

"Perhaps it is the sort of thing we might do more often?" Watts asked hopefully.

Steven frowned. "I mean I certainly don't mind shagging you more often."

Watts laughed. “Likewise, darling,” he managed after a moment. “But I meant walks like this one.”

"Oh. Oh!" Steven had to laugh at himself. "I did wonder why you were asking! Thought it pretty obvious how much I - yes. Er. We can try more walks in the future as well, certainly."

"I am glad to hear it," Watts said, still grinning. "On both counts."

"Nice part is walking I know how to do," Steven said. "No danger of getting it wrong or not knowing how to use the equipment."

Of course he would've tripped several times over if Llewellyn hadn't been looking out for him. But that just went to show why it was good that they did this together.

"Though you know if we did try something you hadn't done before I'd not judge you for being unfamiliar?" Watts said with a slight frown. "I'd merely be pleased that you were willing to try it with me."

"No, no, I do know that," Steven said. "I only meant it makes it an easier promise to give is all. Knowing I can do it without problems."

"So long as we're clear on that," Watts said, relaxing slightly.

"I've never felt pressured by you," Steven said. "I promise. Not even to try something I didn't care to."

"Good, because that would never be my intention," Watts said.

"Didn't even feel pressured to date you," Steven said, smiling up at Llewellyn. "And you had a vested interest there."

"That I did," Watts said. "It is to my great relief that you consented to letting me court you." Well, it had been more of a mutual courting, but details.

"Never been courted before," Steven said. "You were very good at it, you ask me. Still are."

"I'm enjoying every minute of it," Watts said. "It pleases me to do things that make you smile."

[hasaknightjob]

"You're very charming," Steven said. "Romantic. Kind. All that helps. All things I would've asked for, if I was making a list. Things I hope to be as well, if I'm honest."

"Things you most certainly are," Watts affirmed. "Along with thoughtful and patient."

"Even charming?" Steven asked, looking hopeful. He'd always wanted to be considered charming. He liked to think he could be if given a shot at it.

"I find you delightfully so," Watts affirmed.

Well Llewellyn had made Steven's entire day now. Possibly even his week. Steven's smile grew as he was now rather pleased and proud with himself. "Good. Thank you. I'm glad you think so. You're the one who matters."

Well, the look that statement got him was one of utter besottedness. "You're my Gentleman Knight," Watts told him, leaning over to kiss him on the cheek.
