Throughout the Preserve, Friday early Afternoon

The weather today was pleasant, perfect walk-in-the-woods weather, and so as soon as they'd returned from services (and lunch) on the mainland, Watts had suggested that's exactly what he and Steven do. So the two of them had set out to walk to the woods in order to walk in the woods.

Although intellectually he realised it hardly mattered, it still wasn't until they'd passed inside the tree line that Watts reached for Steven's arm with a smile.

"This was a wonderful idea," he said. A good amount of the usual tension he carried with him had melted away on the walk over and so his gait was loose-limbed and easy.

"Remember, if I'm not here," Steven moved his hand down to tap Llewellyn's chest, right over his heart, "I'm here."

“That sounds awfully familiar,” Watts said with a soft smile.

"It's a line from my favorite poet," Steven replied, matching Llewellyn's smile with his own.

“Steven Grant, you are going to make me blush,” Watts replied.

Steven moved his hand to gently tug at Llewellyn's tie. "Oh no. Horrible fate, that. Seeing you blush."

“Tease.”

Please note how he was in no way telling you to stop, Steven.

"Hardly teasing if I'm being honest," Steven pointed out. Though he did say this while giving Llewellyn's tie another tug.

“About which part?” Watts wondered.

[hasaknightjob]

"I mean all of it," Steven said. He moved close enough to kiss but didn't close the distance. "Being with you always. You being my favorite poet. The lot."

“Is that so?” Watts said, fingers toying with the hem of Steven’s shirt.

[hasaknightjob]

"We don't lie to each other," Steven reminded him. "Though I suppose I'm being rude, getting in the way of our walk."

“I don’t mind.” Watts admitted. He'd been the reason they'd stopped at all, as he saw it.

[hasaknightjob]

"I don't either," Steven admitted. "But I like doing almost anything as long as it's with you. Even be stood by a tree."

"I'm afraid if we linger like this much longer I'm going to want to do far more than just stand here," Watts admitted. "Things that are... " he tugged on Steven's shirt. "Not exactly appropriate for such a public space."

Now it was Steven's turn to blush. "Oh. I see. Well... we could go home? Or keep going?"

"I should like to finish our walk," Watts said. "And then we can go home. And do all manner of things which are appropriate for that venue."

"Right," Steven said. He ran his hand down Llewellyn's tie to smooth it in place, then stepped back. "Shall we?"

Watts used one hand to push himself away from the tree, holding out his other for Steven to take once he was back on the path. "Let's."

Steven threaded their fingers together as they set off. "What would you like to talk about instead, then?"

"A good question," Watts mused. He reached into a pocket, pulling out some dried fruit, and popped an apple slice in his mouth before offering another to Steven. "I haven't much to catch you up on for the week," he smiled, "as you've been there for most of it."

Steven smiled, charmed by Llewellyn's offering. "An entire week of highlights then? Seeing each other?"

"That's certainly how I see it," Watts nodded.

[hasaknightjob]

"We have had plenty of meals together," Steven said.

Of course that wasn't the same thing as their weekly lunches, but they were still nice.

"I'm certainly being spoiled, having you and Raphael about," Steven said. "No wait to see either of you if I'd care to."

"We're happy to spoil you in that manner, both of us," Watts said. "Even if it means fighting for your attention."

"I do only have the one lap," Steven said. He gave a grin. "Put that down as another pitfall of having the one body?"
