Midnight Manor Private Residence, Wednesday Evening
Date night dinner wasn't usually leftovers, but they had so much remaining from last night's dinner party, even with encouraging all their guests to take away as much as they could carry, that it was really the only sensible option.
One thing Watts had made from scratch for the occasion was a cake, seeing as it was exactly two years to the day from when Steven and Watts had first crossed paths. Two years since Watts had found himself absolutely captivated by his new neighbour. Two years since that neighbour had invited him over for coffee, sparking a friendship that had eventually become a romance.
So, following dinner Watts had told Steven he had prepared something, and to go get settled in the library, he'd be out in a minute.
"Here we are," Watts said with a smile as he entered the library, carefully balancing the cake on a tray.

"You were there right from the start to help draw him out of his shell," Watts pointed out. "I do believe it was a team effort."

The only reason Steven hadn't tried swiping a dollop of frosting yet was because of the cat in his lap. Otherwise he would have done so as soon as Llewellyn set the plate down.

He leaned over, carefully cutting them each a slice and putting them on the plates he'd brought on the tray.
And then, with a playful grin, he swiped his finger through the icing and held that up to Steven's lips.

Probably more slowly than strictly necessary, but one did want to be thorough.
