Patapsco Valley State Park, Sunday Afternoon

It wasn't the nice sunny day Watts had been hoping for, but nor was it pouring rain, so Watts and Steven were forging ahead with their plans to go on a nice hike together on the mainland.

"Careful," Watts said, not for the first time as he took Steven's arm to gently move him out of the way of a branch that had fallen across their path.

"You're decadent, far as I'm concerned," Steven said. "That mean I can only have you now and again?"

"You may have me whenever you please," Watts replied.

"Lucky thing," Steven said. "I'd be sad otherwise. Miserable, actually."

"And as the one who has your heart, I simply could not let that happen," Watts said solemnly.

Steven leaned into him. "That's not fair. How am I to keep walking when you've made me melted?"

"I suppose I shall have to carry you with me, then, my darling," Watts said, wrapping an arm around Steven's waist.

"Hmm, you'll certainly have to hold me tight," Steven said. He slipped his arm around Llewellyn's waist in turn. "Should we get to that waterfall? I do want to take photos of it if it's possible. Especially with my handsome beau and his leaf friend."

Watts tilted his head thoughtfully. "We're close," he observed. "I believe I can hear running water."

"I'll follow you then," Steven said.

He wasn't moving his arm away from Llewellyn's waist though. So "follow" in the sense of "walking next to."

It wasn't that long until they reached the waterfall in question.

"Oh, now, that is something, isn't it?" Watts remarked as he watched the water cascade down the rocks.

"Oh that's lovely," Steven said. He let himself take a moment to appreciate everything around them. "I could see sitting in a spot like this for hours."

"How about long enough for our sandwiches and coffee?" Watts suggested.

"I like the sound of that," Steven said. "Here, let me get some photos first? You included, dapper as you are."

"I'll want one with both of us in it as well," Watts requested. "And I can take some photographs of you."

[hasaknightjob]

"Only fair," Steven said. He pulled away from Llewellyn and got his mobile out again to start taking photos of the waterfall. "Here, I'll do these first since it doesn't have to worry about getting a pose right."

“Nor will it blink at an inopportune moment,” Watts agreed, watching Steven with open and obvious fondness.

"No hair falling in its face either," Steven agreed. He turned back to Llewellyn. "Shall I get you and your leaf now?"

“Do you want me to hold it?” Watts asked, hand going to… his suit jacket pocket, oddly enough. “Or shall I… leaf it where it is?”

Ah, that was why. To reach for his own mobile telephone in hopes of snapping a photograph of Steven’s reaction.

Steven's reaction was a delighted bark of laughter combined with a look of pure adoration. So hopefully that was the kind of photo Llewellyn was hoping to get.

You know? It was!

The angle and framing maybe weren’t ideal, due to how quickly Watts had snapped the photograph, but bless modern technology for the fact that it was properly in focus.

"I love you," Steven said, still laughing. There may have been heart eyes as well.

“I don’t make puns for just anyone,” Watts told him solemnly. “I love you too.”

"Lucky me," Steven said, smiling at him. "And yes, please leaf it alone. It looks lovely in your hat like that."

Watts beamed at him. “Is this a good spot here?” he asked.

Steven checked it through his mobile. "Perfect. All right, one - two - three - "
