MHA #15, Saturday Morning
As far as birthday celebrations went, Watts- well, he didn't have anything to compare it against, actually, but all the same he thought it went rather well.
Yes there'd been a part of the evening where his fears had been laid out for all- or at least for Steven, as no one else had actually paid them any mind- to see. But the conversation had shifted, eventually, and then they'd come back to the island, fumbling their way through the hallway and stopping only for the occasional kiss that still tasted of crepes.
Fumbling all the way, as it happened, to Watts's apartment, through the door, and into the bedroom. Where there was (shockingly) more kissing. And then some things that weren't kissing. And then, eventually, drifting off to sleep together.
Which naturally led in to waking up together. Or it would. Eventually. Right now they were still both blissfully asleep, Watts once again doing his very best impression of an octopus curled around Steven.
[ooc: for he who is mentioned in the post.]

Not that the destination hadn't been nice as well.
Likewise, when the time came it made sense to stay right there and drift off to sleep, comfortable in Llewellyn's arms.
Which was where Steven was come morning, his back pressed up against Llewellyn's chest, and still sleeping well past the sunrise.

Instantly awake, Steven sat bolt upright. It was only Llewellyn's hold on him which arrested the movement enough to keep Steven from tumbling to the floor. Instead Steven sat there, struggling for breath and unable to orient himself.

“Steven?” he said, confused and concerned.

"Steven," he said again, more concern than confusion this time. "It's just me, it's Llewellyn."

In Steven's defense he hadn't exactly been paying attention to the decor when they'd got there.

"It is," he repeated. "We were somewhat- ah- distracted," his own doing, really, as it was his birthday celebration and that meant he was going to kiss Steven in the hallway if he wanted to, damn it all, "as we were coming home last night, it seems."

He shifted closer to Llewellyn, unconsciously reaching for Llewellyn's hand as he did.
no subject
"Better?" he asked. Whether he meant the contact, or recalling the context for how he'd ended up here, or both, was up for interpretation.
no subject
"Better," he said, meaning it for both options. He took slow, even breaths as he looked around, trying to memorize what details there were so that in future he'd easily recognize the room.

For the record, last night's suit had not been placed neatly on said stand.
"Is there anything I can do?" Watts asked.

Though having the phone confirm it for the both of them had helped.

Okay, technically there had been insisting that he was 'fine' the last time they'd woken up together, but he'd also been trying to lie to himself at the time.
no subject
"Still, care to lay back down?" Steven considered the wording and gave Llewellyn a small grin. "That's the kind of lie I don't mind at the moment."

Unlike the plan to stay put, which had Steven lightly pushing Llewellyn back so that Steven could use his chest as a pillow.
Steven felt better, but wasn't entirely over needing to remind himself that Llewellyn was real.

Also the second time they’d woken up together only to have one of them react badly.

Again, slightly distracted the night before.
