A Cabin in South Tyrol, Italy, Saturday Afternoon

Watts had been very deliberate in his choice of location for this getaway he'd planned for himself and Steven. The point was to experience something a little simpler, more rustic than their usual holidays. But given that Steven was still relatively new to the concept of camping, a location too far removed from civilization didn't seem like a good idea. The location he'd eventually settled on was isolated enough that it seemed remote, but not only did it have electricity and running water, it was only a few minutes drive to the nearby village of Luttach, a popular tourist destination with plenty of shops and things to do should they feel the need.

The portal had dropped Watts and Steven off at the village, where they'd done some preliminary exploring before hiring a car to take them the short distance to their cabin.

"Well, here we are," Watts said, turning the key and swinging open the door to what would be their home for the next week. "First order of business, building a nice fire to warm the place up."

Yes, the place also had an electric heater, but for some reason that wasn't where his mind went at first.

There'd been pictures of the cabin online, but seeing it in person was something else. Steven looked around with interest. "Isn't it sweet? Oh it's charming. I like it."

"Oh, good," Watts said. "I'm not certain I could have found us another cabin on short notice if you hadn't," he added, possibly joking, possibly not.

"Was there a problem?" Steven asked, picking up on that 'not' more than anything. "You put so much work in for us, did this put you out at all?"

"Not with securing this place," Watts said. "I only meant- if we arrived and you didn't care for it, I don't know how easy it would be to secure another rental right away."

There were a couple hotels in the village, given that it was something of a tourist destination, but other cabins? Watts wasn't sure if there would be any with vacancies.

"I see." Steven relaxed. He gestured around them. "No, this is brilliant. Thank you. Just the sort of thing I was hoping for."

"Wonderful," Watts said, pressing a kiss to Steven's cheek before setting down his luggage and going over to the fireplace to get it started.

Steven took out his mobile to take a few pictures of the inside of the cabin before they made too many changes to it. "Do you mind if I take one of you starting the fire?"

"Not at all," Watts said, locating the matches.

Steven did, angling it so the shot included Llewellyn and the fire place together. "There. Perfect. Like you."

"Flirt," Watts shook his head fondly as the fire roared to life.

Initial photos taken care of, Steven tucked his mobile back into his pocket. He went over to the area by the bed and pulled back the curtains separating it from the living space. "Oh look! They've two duvets. Do you remember I told you about that once? Some cultures do it so you've your own instead of sharing with your partner?"

"I like sharing with you," Watts admitted. "Though if you'd prefer your own..."

"I'd much rather share," Steven said, already adjusting the duvets so that one was spread out over the mattress and the other was folded by the foot of the bed if they decided they needed it. "But sort of funny we would come across it in the wild, as it were."

"Suppose so," Watts said. "It'd be hard to hold you properly with blankets between us," he added, glad that wasn't going to be an issue.

"Not as fun getting warm together either," Steven agreed. "Though I suppose it's a spare blanket for cuddling on the couch."

"And I do anticipate a lot of that over this week," Watts said with a smile.

"Great deal of cuddling in general," Steven said with a smile. He looked around. "Should I make us some tea? We can sit and enjoy the fire?"

"That sounds wonderful," Watts agreed, moving their luggage over to the bed.

Steven put the kettle on. While waiting for it to boil, he made sure the groceries they'd requested were there and set up what cooking items they'd brought with them.

Soon enough the water was ready for their tea. Steven prepared two mugs just as he and Llewellyn liked and brought them to the couch. "Here we are then. Place warms up quick, doesn't it?"

"Advantage of such a small footprint," Watts agreed, settling in on the couch. "Doesn't take much at all."

Steven tucked in next to Llewellyn on the couch once Llewellyn seemed comfortable.

"Good insulation as well," Steven said, looking around as though somehow he could see it. "There was a chill but not so we could see our breath. That'll be nice when we need to shower."

"Plenty of room for two there, if needed," Watts said playfully. "Especially since the only tub is outdoors."

"Good to conserve water," Steven said, grinning at him. "Us being in nature and all."

"Clever man," Watts declared, leaning over to offer a kiss for that statement.

Steven kissed him back, sighing happily as he leaned in. "This is nice. Just as I imagined."
