MHA #15, Saturday Morning

The wedding yesterday had been an enjoyable affair, but by the time Steven and Watts arrived back at Watts's apartment, they hadn't much energy for much beyond feeding the cat and then curling up on the couch together to simply read and exist in each other's company for a while before heading to bed.

Saturday morning rolled around, and Watts found himself awake shortly before a certain four-legged alarm clock was due to make his presence known. Normally, he'd try and go back to sleep for those few extra minutes, but an idea occurred to him and so he was oh-so-carefully slipping out of bed and doing his best not to wake Steven.

Satisfied that he hadn't disturbed him, Watts reached for his discarded suit jacket from last night, digging out a scrap of paper and a pencil and hastily writing In the kitchen. - L and leaving that on the nightstand on Steven's side of the bed. He hoped Steven wouldn't wake in time to make the note neccessary, but just in case...

He threw on his 'borrowed' sweats (Did they really still need the qualifier at this point? Probably not.) and headed to the kitchen, placing their usual breakfast order on his mobile phone, absently bending down and scooping up Raphael as he'd been on his way to the bedroom to announce it was breakfast time.

"Shhh," he told the cat as he reached the kitchen and dished out the cat food. "We're letting him sleep a bit." Once he got the notification that breakfast was on its way, he set the kettle brewing for tea so that it would be ready just as the delivery arrived. Which, once it had, he was carefully arranging a selection of Steven's favourites on a plate, preparing that tea, and then slipping back into the bedroom.

Belatedly he realised he'd have to make a second trip for his own plate, and was regretting not having the insight to have purchased some sort of tray that might make this whole endeavour easier. Still, he hoped he was quiet enough as he set the plate and cup of tea down that Steven wouldn't wake as he crept back out of the bedroom to fetch and return shortly with his own breakfast.
